I hadn't heard of the Frames since I heard this song on "So You Think You Can Dance" a few years ago. I'm glad I watched that episode. Their music is the first to ever make me cry. Beautiful.
There needs to be more groups like this. Glen and Markéta are incredible in Once, and the songs they wrote are so heart warming. I'd never heard The Frames, but this is great.
I just got back from Irelan (music group) and saw the movie. I agree, it kicked ass!! I fell in love with this song (as well as Marketa) and...god!! Great song. I can play it on the guitar....
It's about time after two decades that The Frames are getting what they deserve. It's taken a while and when it came they are modest. A credit to our country
I'm afraid I have to fully agree with Martin. Brilliant and gorgeous song, but when it's just Glen and Marketa, it's like a love confession to one another. Simply beautiful.
Jonathan and Karla not only embodied the characters masterfully, but the routine brings tears to my eyes every time. They captured the spirit of the song and depicted it's story beautifully.
funny story..went to a frames gig in tramore circa 1999...met this guy after the gig and looked for a signature on my top..however didnt realise was wearing a prodigy top(white top with circles)...he refused to sign...respect...
i love the movie and needless to say LOVE this song. Both versions are greatness but the perfection of the violin in this version just kicked it up a notch.
Saw the movie last night. THe musical chemistry between Glen and Marketa was undeniable. I've followed Glen's career even before his motion picture debute in "The Commitments" Some advice to the masses, go see these two talented people perform magic on the big screen,. You won't regret it!!
simply brilliant - and just when I thought there was no more good music to look forward to. THIS was refreshing, jolting me into pure inspiration. Thank you.
Do you all remember Glen as the guitarist in the '90s movie, "The Commitments"? Another brilliant music-based movie which features great Irish musicians.
in 20 hours glen is playing in prague. concert is sold out... first time for me to see this guy, first time to listen to falling slowly live... amazing music. most beautiful love song ever
I love the movie version of "Falling Slowly" but this one ha a fullness to its sound. Nicely rounded out, the bass and drums provide a nice bottom to the melody :-)
I have to sincerely thank Glen, Marketa and the makers of this film. My wife and I are in a VERY similar situation as musicians and in life. (except our ending is that we are together). This story is our story in so many ways. Falling Slowly fits my thoughts to her dead on. Kudos and blessings....you touched our hearts and even more importantly, after years of waiting to hear my wife sing, this song gave her a voice. I've waited years...... Thank you so much.. -R-
woah i just discovered this song, and band for the first time ever and i can't believe i'd never heard this song before. It's brilliant! awesome vocal harmonies!
Was originally done with the frames and Marketa. There was a debate just before the oscars as to whether it qualified for the category because it was originally recorded before the film and there was thoughts that it was outside the scope of the whole film. Thankfully this wonderful song got the focus it deserved. Well done to all involved.
I agree with all of you. i love this song so much but i heard the song before but never knew what it was called until i watched SYTYCD. I so happy i did :D
This version is nice! personnely I like the Once version more. It's because you will picture directly the moviescene. It's was so powerfull, that it's suddenly became one of my favorite songs of all time!
This is such an outstanding song. Lyrics and music like this are, sadly, a rarity today.
I love his guitar. Shows us his passion! We saw the movie "Once" three days ago and became fans. Great people! thanks for the music!
I hadn't heard of the Frames since I heard this song on "So You Think You Can Dance" a few years ago. I'm glad I watched that episode. Their music is the first to ever make me cry. Beautiful.
After all this years looking for this song and I find the same version that in some point I heared in VH1 back in the 2000
The harmony between their voices is flawless, and the violin along with that light rock feeling and beat makes this a great song.
SYTYCD always have a good selection of songs. wouldn't know that the frames existed without them. I am now a fan. :)
Holy crap! Ive been looking for this song forever!!!
Saw them last night in Hollywood-a great show...nobody wanted to let them go home!
There needs to be more groups like this. Glen and Markéta are incredible in Once, and the songs they wrote are so heart warming. I'd never heard The Frames, but this is great.
Heard this song on SYTYCD...coupled with the amazing dancing...absolutely beautiful!!!!
I love this song. When I first heard it I cried. It hits the heart every time I listen to it.
I just heard about this band about less than 5 minutes ago.
And I already fall in love with 'em
God... cant stop my tears from falling
Saw it on So You Think You Can Dance
Perfect song to a perfect routine
i can listen to this over and over.
przepiękny utwór, prosty, osobisty, prawdziwy, można słuchać bez końca....
piosenka o miłości, bez słowa "miłość" - super komentarz!

"So You Think You Can Dance" brought me here....Beautiful song!
First heard this song by Kris Allen on American Idol and loved it =-)
Beautiful song!!!
I love this band, and I can't find their albums anywhere. It's so sad, because they're just so amazing.
And he sounds like Cat Stevens... :P
beautiful as always.. the frames are amazing.. love you
I just got back from Irelan (music group) and saw the movie. I agree, it kicked ass!! I fell in love with this song (as well as Marketa) and...god!! Great song. I can play it on the guitar....
Beautiful lyrics and beautiful music--so often you don't get that anymore in today's version of music!!
It's about time after two decades that The Frames are getting what they deserve. It's taken a while and when it came they are modest. A credit to our country

Just saw the Movie Once for the first time.... I love his music it is awesome....
ME TOO!!! I loved it!! Such an emotional dance!
I was introduced to this song in a movie. Quite amazing I must say.
it is impossible to hate this song. and it NEVER gets annoying. Great music.
I heard it on the radio sometime and now I just stumbled upon it. brilliant song. A bit depressing though...
funny story..went to a frames gig in tramore circa 1999...met this guy after the gig and looked for a signature on my top..however didnt realise was wearing a prodigy top(white top with circles)...he refused to sign...respect...
that's where i heard it too! i can't stop listening to it!
Only one of them! Big Love and seen twice! Heaven!
You're spot on! This is the original. It's brilliant!!! Was great on Jools holland the other nite too!
arguably the greatest song written by an irish singer/songwriter
WHAT!?
The dynamic of this version hits much harder. It feels more alive.
Ooo, an excellent version of this song. It has some nice depth to make up for the loss of raw passion that was in the movie version.
i love the movie and needless to say LOVE this song. Both versions are greatness but the perfection of the violin in this version just kicked it up a notch.
Brilliant fantastic emotional.Added to my all time favourites. Thanks and congrats Marketa and Glen this Oscar winning song and lyrics.
Well done outspan,

Michael

Simply awesome. Bless you, Glen.
