Beautiful work on the bike. Those TRWs are amazing bikes to ride. Congrats on the long career and retirement. All the best, and looking forward to more TRW vids!

I know these, the first one I saw was when I was a teenager, around 1970 or so. You could buy these in the crate for $500 from a place called Clark Auto Salvage on Little Tyler Mountain, between Charleston, West Virginia, and Cross Lanes WV. What happened to most of them was the oil in them was to preserve the engine and running gear, but nobody knew that. So, they'd check the "oil," see it was in there, and never give it a second thought. Folks would just install a battery, fill the tank with gas and ride away. About 30 or so miles later, sometimes less, the engine would seize. Since there were no spare parts to be had, they'd end up being scrapped. In my lifetime I've only seen three running examples of this bike. The failure is typically in the lower end bearings. The sad part is, most all could have been saved by rebuilding the lower end with new bearings, if I remember right, some kind of machining was required. 🤔 Since your's kicks over, you might be ok, but, I'd be sure to change the oil, and if it were me, I'd clean the system just to be sure. It's a beautiful bike, enjoy!
