This has gotta be one of my favorite CT101 casts of all time. We get so caught up in all the modern stuff and ratio variants and wherever-con exclusives, that we forget all the extraordinary creations that came before.
SEEING THESE BOOKS REMINDS ME OF MY DAD,MY DAD WAS AN ARMY AIRBORNE RANGER THAT FOUGHT IN WW2.HE LOVED THE OLD WAR MOVIES AND WAR STORIES FROM THAT PERIOD.THE BOOKS YOU FOUND ARE SO AWESOME I'M .GLAD YOU SLABBED THEM TO SAVE THEM FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.CONGRATS ON THE HIGH GRADES.TAKE CARE AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY.

Fantastic collection of war comics, love that Paratrooper cover, but when jumping out of a plane you didn’t even know if you where going to be shot in the air or even make it to the ground !

War comics arent really my thing, but i certainly appreciate the awesome find. You really can't overstate how incredible it is to come across books that old and that well preserved. It's a shame they are being split up, but i guess that's the business. Well done guru.

This was one of the best GOLDEN AGE GURU tales.
Marvel/Atlas had some great titles in the fifties. I new they had plenty of horror, monster and sci fi titles but didn't know they had war comics. Some of those comic covers are magnificent. I have read some of the horror issues and after each story I read I say how silly that story was than I read another and another and then I can't stop. This is an awesome display. These books are so unique. Normally I see plenty of silver age super hero books but not these. Fantastic.

The war genre is ripe with great stuff both Golden and Silver Age. Heath was an amazing artist for a long time. Personally I grab GI Combat issues between 80-120 as I find those some of the best covers and stories

Battlefront #26 reminds me of Lt Spiers from Band of Brothers
Very, very kool. I picked up a long box of late 50's, early 60's that had a bunch of war books I had never heard of. I love the old War books and have a pretty nice 60's collection of Army at War. In this p/u Titles included; Attack, Battle (#68 awesome Kirby art), Fightin Army, Air Force, Navy & Marines, Battlefield Action (Hitler cover appearance), US Air Force, Tell it To the Marines, War at Sea, Submarine Attack, US Tank Commandos, Yanks in Battle, All American Men of War, and of course GI Combat and Our Army at War (incl #88 first cover Sgt Rock. I have been sitting on them not knowing what to do..mainly because conditions are lower grade for the most part. 2.0 to 6.0 range but still fun.
Holy Moly ... I have Battle Front #28 as well .. far from being a 9.0, but still in decent shape. Good to know that Overstreet is low balling the value on these, and the market is hot right now!! Sounds like it’s time to get it graded!

My fave of the covers would be the mine sweeping cover of Battlefront as it made me think of all of our brave men and women in the armed forces and the work they all do day in and day out to keep this country free #supportthetroops. I have been a fan of war based comics for years love reading Unknown Soldier, G.I. Combat and others like them sadly it is getting hard to find copies of these great books from the silver and bronze age at an affordable price.

Great video and find. Those were great old comics. The halo info was great to know.
If you want to collect these type of comics, buy the issues as you see them and try to upgrade your copies as you go. Don't make the mistake I did and pass up comics because you think you will find a better condition copy later. I passed on alot of midgrade minus comics and never saw a better one come up all the years. This was when they were cheap too. People don't realize the print runs on war comics was extremely low compared to superhero comics. I remember from the late 70's and eighties when new comics came out, there would only be 5-7 copies of Sgt. Rock, GI Combat, Weird War, etc on the shelf.. and there would be 75-100 of any Xmen monthly or Batman. The cool thing about collecting war comics is I never had to worry about them selling out. Lol. No, this shop did not have hold bags yet. There are some issues that are just really hard to find for no rhyme or reason. Take Weird War #75. Nothing special, printed in 1979, not even labeled as a 75th anniversary issue, but very difficult too find in midgrades and extremely difficult to find in high grades. Matter of fact there is only 1 copy for sale on Ebay as of this writing and it looks midgrade. Better grab it before someone else does. Anyway, war comics have a ton of upside as the superhero comics have gone crazy in prices and most people cant afford to own a original copy anymore. In my opinion, I dont think there is probably more than 300-400 copies of that battlefront mine sweeper cover in existence. I have only seen 2 in my life and they both were beat copies 1.5 to 2.0 and I passed. Stupid me.

Second, as someone who works for Price Guide, how much can you influence the official price guide prices of undervalued books such as these? I’d love to see you write an article about this in the guide and exert more influence on the community. Thanks for sharing. Your haul videos are the best!
