Love this! Would rather have seen a period Italian engine in it, something like a twin turbo Alfa Busso, or the Ferrari V8 from the Lancia Thema 8.32, but still, a great project!
It would've been really cool to see this thing get the same twin turbo V6 from the Kia Stinger GT (like the Delorean got), but a 3S-GE Beams is cool as well. I have always loved those old Maseratis.
Hopefully Steven doesn't see your comment lol Multiple times he's said "damn I should've gone Kia" but I think he's pretty stoked with the car as it is!
@@omd_sd Lol...don't get me wrong, I'm not anti-Toyota power, the 3S-GE is a great engine and it's powered so many cool cars over the years, and not only did this one made INCREDIBLE horsepower figures, but I never thought that one day I would equate big power numbers with a Kia engine. Still, it's hard to argue with a well-proven twin turbo V6 engine platform. My last major build was my 1997 Civic coupe that I swapped in a fully built LSVTEC with a GTS3582 turbo and it made 709 whp at 34-36 psi. My best time was a 9.56 @ 155 mph. It would spin both front tires at 80 MPH in 4th gear. I have a BMW 135i now...
Idk, the 3sge is still a great platform. Once forged they can make some decent power, we have Altezzas making over 600hp here in New Zealand. They sound insane with the rev limit raised.
The stock v6 that came in these cars has no major faults, all aluminum construction, 3 valve heads and internals are easily good for 3 -400 hp no problem. The later 4 valve engines can make serious power. I wouldn't go to the trouble of swapping in a v6 from a Korean car when you have a really beautifully designed Italian engine that came stock. (Complete ground up design btw, don't let someone fool you saying this a merak engine with turbos) Atleast this 4 cylinder swap is something different/ unique.
Wow that valve cover is beautiful
Thank you 🙏🏻

Great. Love your builds and videos.
Especially the Ferrari
Holy moly now I gotta watch the build series
That's nuts.
I'm in the process of accruing parts for a mild turbo build on the altezza I recently bought, so will be watching this space eagerly
Incredible build!
Outstanding!!

@@omd_sd I know that I would be pumped with the turbo Beams in such a cool old iconic car such as the Biturbo.

Im using 3sge turbo too and what modifications you did on engine head?
Almost none. We opened the valve gap to account for extra heat expansion from turbo charging and eliminated VVT.
Bee-turbo.
How much boost was that?
Was that 375 Ft-lbs tourqe?
Torque is on the right side, not sure if you can see it well in the video. It made about 310ft lbs
A Toyota engine that MUST be embarrassing since the valva cover says otherwise... Thats weak.
Nah, we like the 3S engine and Toyota products in general. We made a custom valve cover that looks cool simply because we could.
