    I have seen commercial keepers use this product. For a backyarder like myself, I’m looking at one or two queen cells with high hopes that the split cell comes back mated. Thanks for the video mate👍 RUclips research can give new keepers high expectations and encourage breeding/grafting with inferior gene stock.

      All about well fed... well not all but really important,then worry about genetics

      @@badassbees3680 yes i agree with you.. good condicions can make good queens... genetic is not everything. But it helps

    Wish I had seen this before I bought it last spring to try it. I’ll stick with 2 frame OTS splits to get queens for myself.

      I think you need to let strongest hives make your Queens,then put cells in two framers...try it..

    Thanks for the incite on that system. Seems to be something that would disrupt the queen too much and like you said 50 queens are a lot to deal with for just starting. Grafting you can choose exactly the amount you have the resources for.

    Thanks for the info. I think beginning beekeepers think they need a lot of equipment. I was just over on Mann Lake just looking at stuff and saw they were out of this. I like the method the fat bee man showed with just cutting a strip of comb with eggs and attaching it to a top bar. As a backyard beekeeper I just need two or three hives and would like to make a queen since I only have one hive right now. I also have a layens hive so I was thinking of making a double screened divider board and splitting the hive since the hive body is big enough for two colonies and they would benefit from shared heat in the winter.

      Put a frame of eggs over an excluder sometime.... Absolutely easiest method on the planet to make a queen

      These are fine, but really not for first timers ..most new Beekeepers can't even catch a Queen by hand yet and it's just more to keep up with and more problems that can happen...

    I have never seen this before. I would like to learn how to graft someday. I am not to that point yet learning how to graft maybe someday.

    Awesome system, i am waiting for TWO WEEKS now for larvae. Queen released - eggs removed. Queen kept inside - eggs removed. A lot off cells with 2-3 eggs because of lack of space probability. What do i do with my starter colonies while this struggle? I managed to get it work somehow in the past but now it is really disappointing. I don't recommend using it if you need queens fast. When it works it is awesome but it only works in some colonies, unfortunately at this time it doesn't work in the colony i want larvae from.

    Great demonstration brother! In theory it seems like it would be good but it IS a lot of steps. I’ll take your advice and try your way! 🙂👍👍👍👊

      It's not that complicated once you do it, but it's just more bs to do to get same result grafting...

    All comb must be full and you have to feed syrup this proses. My advice fill all nicot cell first honey when you see eggs in nicot cell open it. Free queen do t wait 4 day. Love from Anatolia...

    This French system of Queen rearing Nicot is a real Boon for people like me with older eyes;I’ve used it several times with great success.The Chinese Knockoff is also ok as long as one uses the original French Queen Cups ,using poorly made Chinese cups causes lid to not close.You mentioned 50 cups both of my systems have 110 spaces for cups,I wish i could get one that held 50

    • @badassbees3680
      @badassbees3680  2 года назад +1

      It does hold 110 I probably only put 50 in it if you use the CHEAP cups you can put wax on them and they won't fall out Thanks for your support!!

    Can the queen lay by herself in the artificial qeen cup?

    • @badassbees3680
      @badassbees3680  3 года назад +1

      If I put the artificial cup into my Nicot System and put a mated queen in there ,she could...then I wouldn't be the one transferring the actual larvae into the cup.. however it's alot more steps to do and I can do it myself much much faster...it took me less than 2 minutes to graft these..it would take 4 days if I was waiting on the Nicot System to hatch the eggs into larvae and then put then take the queen out and transfer the cups into a cellbuilder, so personally I prefer to graft them myself but yes you can definitely make a mated queen lay in artificial cups if you have the equipment.Thanks for watching and commenting!

    its a cool idea, but I havent heard much good about them. grafting isnt that hard, you just cant be scared to screw upp to learn

    • @badassbees3680
      @badassbees3680  3 года назад

      Yeah,their ok not really elaborate once you understand grafting but it's really just more bs to do to get the same outcome and actually more problematic to be honest...that's been in my deepfreeze for years now.. just seen it and done a video...

  • @researcherAmateur
    @researcherAmateur 3 года назад +1

    Yeah, that one doesn't work good. Impossible to set the timing. The queen needes to lay it over night.. and she doesn't.
    Jenter has almost the seme sistem, but with wax in the cups. That one works greate..
    But ppl should try with swarm cells first.. learn something before

    • @badassbees3680
      @badassbees3680  3 года назад +1

      Yeah natural cells to begin with I think too!

    • @researcherAmateur
      @researcherAmateur 3 года назад +1

      They will make them swarm anyway.. trying to built numbers for the starter.. or feeding, "helping" them like they are chicken.
