nsr250 was my first proper bike. nothing ever came past it through the twisies. I remember my father in law laughing at the sound (clearly not a 2 stroke lover) and saying it'll never stay with his gsxr. hit some bends and didn't see him till I pulled over again. awesome video 👍

I crashed my rgv250 on the way back from buying it!😂 30 years later I’ve got a Nsr250 like the one in the vid.
One of my dream bike's, and unfortunately not very many made it to the state's. I had several Yamaha 2 stroke street bike's as a kid, first was the RD400, and 5 RZ350'S. What great memories they created...from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
Yeah I would love one too, was one of my dream bikes too , the rz350 (rd350 over here) are still fun to ride now and have great memories myself about them, done a video on one last year :)
@@ProjectMoto if I was rich I'd build the ultimate RZ350 [RD350LC] for you guy's. I'd either find a FZR400 frame or use the factory one depending on performance. Then I'd get one of those big Trinity engine's and wheelie my way into old age!...lol... I really liked the frame stiffness of the RZ's over the air cooled RD400 that I had. It's been so many years that can't tell you which one's I had more fun on. They are all glorious in my memories! I became disabled in 2003 from a workplace injury. But I can't bring myself to sell the projects I was building at the time. @@billallen4793 what great memories a 2 stroke brings back and the feeling they give you to want to do a project, mate I’m sure the Ultimate RZ350 would be awesome .. hey and even if not for us I’m sure your grandson would love it.. when he gets a bit older of course 😂 yeh the RG and RD 500 we’re such cool bikes, be cool to have the 500 engine In a RGV 250 chassis , would love to ride one , stay safe out there in Wyoming :)
Beautiful! I had a load of strokers over the years starting with an RD250E, RD400E, 350L/C ,350 YPVS, RG500, TZR250, RGV250M, NSR250MC28 and finally an Aprilia RS250 Biaggi replica, I ride a street triple RS these days but still miss the sound ,smell and power bands of the strokers, if I catch a whiff of two stroke now it takes me back to my youth.
Yeah such a shame they ain’t all being made now, but they are still so good today , started on 2 strokes myself and still love them today , just awesome in the powerband , light and handle so good , would love one myself :)
Ha great .. yeah I just turned 49 .. we must have had and see the same kind of bikes, still love a 250cc 2 stroke all these years later , awesome bike :)
I wrote off my VJ22 RGV250P and bought a black and silver one of these around 94, i had it for about a month and was really disappointed with it. I was expecting it would have the violent RGV powerband and it just didn’t. The power curve was way more linear on the MC21 and I was disappointed. I then traded it in on a brand new MC28 NSR250SP Repsol expecting a massive jump and again , was just disappointed ultimately but since it was so stunning I kept it for 3 years. Talking to a bunch of people everyone commented that that was always the difference between the Honda and the Suzuki, the power band. Both the Honda’s did have a noticeable availability of more torque at low revs , that much was obvious but neither were as fun as a RGV. Sadly i never got an HRC PGM card for the MC28 where i was told massively changed the power curve making it more like the RGV power delivery but Ill never know as the Honda distributor was not allowed to sell them for Rd registered bikes, im told, and i couldn’t find anywhere to sell me one out of Japan, keep in mind this was mid 90s so no internet like we know today to find anything globally was also told the HRC cards only worked with the HRC wiring loom which had no provisions for indicators and lights etc, still, Id loved to have tried the 70+bhp NSR fully unlocked though ..
Very interesting and cool to read mate, Yeah they are not like the RGV , I always wanted an MC28 but like you say would be amazing to have a full power one .. I’ve been looking at a few NSR recently as I have an RGV and a KR1S at the moment, just think it will go well with them
@ProjectMoto here in New Zealand we don't see many 250 2strokes at all now. Last one I saw was about 18 months ago, a mint vj22 RGV250N with the cool squiggly blue n pink decals, it sold for around $20k .. so around £10k !! I'd love to revist those day again but Beer has not been kind to my now rotund physique the last 25 years so I feel no 2 strokes these days will like me and give it up. ZX10's are my girlfriends now, on occasion I'll throw my leg over a German too. 😉
@ProjectMoto mate, if I could build a collection again, a fully unlocked MC28 NSR, a VJ23 RGV lucky strike SP .. I'd be an English man eating a Pork Pie with Chicken Tikka for desert waiting !
i searched for the mc28 and this video played right after it. i feel like for most folks the 21 is much saner lol. i get what you're saying and all, and dont disagree, but most people would massively underestimage the 28 and die horrendously and we all know it LOLOL

Just found a J21 Pepsi 250 in a small shop near my home for about ¥2,000,000 here in Tokyo, which is about $15,000. It is partially disassembled while they search for a few small parts to get it running again, but if my bank account could take that hit then I would definitely buy it.
Never swung a leg over an nsr. In canada we got nsr 400's . I opted for the rg 500. Buddy I knew with the 400 died on it sadly before we could switch up.
Mate that’s sad about your mate .. and never getting to ride one.. the RG 500 was awesome , by the time the NSR’s came around they had sorted out handling, brakes , styling etc a lot better
Very nice … but unfortunate about the Vauxhall Carlton, but if it was what you wanted then it was a good thing , maybe not now , would love to have one again now :)
my first street bike was a yamaha R5 350 i couldn't get the motor to run. my brother in law had a rd350 a friend left in his garage he sold it to me for $50 i drove the tires off that bike i loved it
Ha … you know that’s not true.. it’s a Honda.. 😂 now If it was a Kawasaki or a Suzuki then yeah there’s a definite love problem I have for them .. ha Tyler,Tyreese, Tyrone .. he’s got a some names that boy 😂
Back in the day they was sometimes prone seizing so you would cover the clutch to pull the clutch lever in , I blew a couple up myself back in the day, but tbh I used to use mine all the time throughout the year so didn’t have too many problems, you just have to look after them and ride them a little different to a 4 stroke engine
Ooo memories… had an sp with dry clutch, mag wheels and partly hrc kitted. Why on earth did I part from that…. Stupid. Haven’t seen one up for sale in ages…
Sorry everyone there’s been someone adding on comments about a ‘prize draw, but it’s not from me, they have tried to make it look like me, please don’t respond, I have been reporting them and removing the comments
my dads mate still has an rg250 vj21 a vj22 a yamaha rd 750 and a couple of other 2 strokes i haven't seen cuz he has over 70 bikes i almost bought his second vj22 but my dad wouldnt let me cuz he said it would kill me i learned driving 2 stroke mopeds did over 65 mph on a 60kg vespa bravo before i bought a aprillia rs 125 which i crashed :(
Man over 70 bikes that sounds like an awesome collection … 250’s are a little lively and the way you ride them they are a little prone to the odd crash , I know 😂😂 but like the RS125 .. you end up riding them a little hard of the road so mistakes can happen mate unfortunately
There’s not much that’s the same really, the NSR is a 2 stroke engine so about 55bhp / 135kgs dry weight I guess, the CBR 250 is a 4 stroke engine, so about 24bhp and they were about 150kgs dry weight from what I remember , so a big difference in performance… for the NSR 250cc 2stroke to be similar in speed it would need to go up against the CBR 400 or other 400’s of the time ZXR,VFR,GSXR etc…
nsr250 was my first proper bike. nothing ever came past it through the twisies.

Just found a J21 Pepsi 250 in a small shop near my home for about ¥2,000,000 here in Tokyo, which is about $15,000. It is partially disassembled while they search for a few small parts to get it running again, but if my bank account could take that hit then I would definitely buy it.
Awesome , mate I see 250cc 2 stroke bikes for sale here and am like ‘ I want that’ all the time , such cool bikes
Brilliant video loved that man!!!!!
Thanks , really appreciate it , what a bike :)
My dream bike with the Rothman Honda livery
Yeah what an awesome bike.. the Rothmans colours looked so cool 😎
quality video well done, keep them coming.
Thanks , glad you enjoyed it, appreciate it :)
Got blown away by an RG250 on my ZX9R what an era
Yeah I can believe it , they are great down the twisty roads
I had an RGV250 genuine Lucky Strike. Think it was N reg.
Anyway, I swapped it for a Vauxhall Carlton 1.8
Dumbest thing I've ever done 😢😢😢
Very nice … but unfortunate about the Vauxhall Carlton, but if it was what you wanted then it was a good thing , maybe not now , would love to have one again now :)
my first street bike was a yamaha R5 350 i couldn't get the motor to run. my brother in law had a rd350 a friend left in his garage he sold it to me for $50 i drove the tires off that bike i loved it
Awesome .. $50 !! Wish I could buy one for that now !
gorgeous bike for sure...
Yeah, still so good today , awesome bike :)
just falls into the corners so well, just need a packet of Embassy number 6, woopecker and rope swing in the woods
Ha yeah for sure 😂
It hurts to know you will never look at me the way you look at that Honda 🤣😂 - nice to see more of Tyrone and Liam too 🤗 xx
Ha … you know that’s not true.. it’s a Honda.. 😂 now If it was a Kawasaki or a Suzuki then yeah there’s a definite love problem I have for them .. ha Tyler,Tyreese, Tyrone .. he’s got a some names that boy 😂
One came forsale here in my town. Just came in from Japan
Cool , they are great little bikes if you like bikes like these 250cc 2 strokes.. I’d like an NSR250 MC28.. but they are a lot of money now
Lovely
yeah they are so cool
Hi! 👋
What do you mean by "always cover the clutch with a 2 stroke"? As opposed to a 4?
How come?
Thanks! 👍
@@ProjectMoto
OK, I see yeah. Thanks! Nice vid! 👍
such as beauty bike ever made
Yeah they are gorgeous.. I really want a NSR250 mc28 :)
I got a honda grom Disco, rather small but super fun and totally saving on gas$😁
Yeah mate I see on Instagram, they are a cool little fun bike, had a couple at the shop over the last year 😎
Ooo memories… had an sp with dry clutch, mag wheels and partly hrc kitted. Why on earth did I part from that…. Stupid. Haven’t seen one up for sale in ages…
Nice mate , yeah bet you wish you still had it now, wish I still had a few of my 250 2strokes now
What makes you say you've gotta cover the clutch because it's a 2 stroke? Btw there's some hot rz350 action on my channel if you like 2 strokes.
Just in case it ceases
Sorry everyone there’s been someone adding on comments about a ‘prize draw, but it’s not from me, they have tried to make it look like me, please don’t respond, I have been reporting them and removing the comments
so beautifui MC21!!
Yeah what a gorgeous looking bike, still looks so good today after all these years 😎
My mate had one..loved it..used to suck the guts outta ya when u set off...awesome days
Yeah what an awesome bike, love a 250cc 2stroke.. everyone should have a ride on one at some point :)
Best 2 stroke 250 ever!
Yeah they are so nice , the mc28 with the single sided swingarm was cool but I do like the look of the gull arm swingarm on this one though
I always wanted to ride a rs 250
Yeah I have rode a few of them a while ago, they are very good bikes
Nice bike🏆🏆🏆
They are so awesome 😎
I'm actually 5 foot lol😂 and found one here in America for around 7000 dollars was thinking about getting
Awesome , you should be fine on one of these 90’s 2 strokes, go and have a look and sit on it and see … did you get it yet
my dads mate still has an rg250 vj21 a vj22 a yamaha rd 750 and a couple of other 2 strokes i haven't seen cuz he has over 70 bikes
i almost bought his second vj22 but my dad wouldnt let me cuz he said it would kill me
i learned driving 2 stroke mopeds did over 65 mph on a 60kg vespa bravo before i bought a aprillia rs 125 which i crashed :(
Man over 70 bikes that sounds like an awesome collection … 250’s are a little lively and the way you ride them they are a little prone to the odd crash , I know 😂😂 but like the RS125 .. you end up riding them a little hard of the road so mistakes can happen mate unfortunately
How did it compare to the CBR250RR of the same year?
There’s not much that’s the same really, the NSR is a 2 stroke engine so about 55bhp / 135kgs dry weight I guess, the CBR 250 is a 4 stroke engine, so about 24bhp and they were about 150kgs dry weight from what I remember , so a big difference in performance… for the NSR 250cc 2stroke to be similar in speed it would need to go up against the CBR 400 or other 400’s of the time ZXR,VFR,GSXR etc…
@@ProjectMoto At my local club race track (wales)they always put the 250s in with the 400 super sports makes for close racing.
“Makes me feel like I’m 17 again”.
Always does when I ride or even see or hear a 90’s 250 2stroke , love em 😎
I have the same bike 👊✊️✊️
Awesome , very jealous, would love one myself :)
@@ProjectMoto been told they are worth around £10,000 now 😳
Look at that beautiful Honda NSR250 amongst those ugly Ducati's. Hahaha.
Well I don’t know if the Ducati’s are ugly … But I do love a 90’s 250 2 stroke 😎
Dear Santa...
Ha your writing the same letter as me I’m guessing 😂😂
Why i can barely understand what is the man saying? Is it some kind of deciphered language?
Stick around and watch more videos.. your pick up a new language.. maybe :)
Bet that'd smoke a CBR/GSXR 1000 like a cheap cigar.
These 250cc 2 strokes are crazy round the twisty roads and small tracks.. they surprise a lot of bigger bikes.. and just so cool 😎
This is the Subaru Impreza vs the Misti Lancer, the Subaru (RGV) is the more reliable one, but the Lancer (NSR) is the much better one
Yeah so many examples of things like that .. I did love my RGV’s .. never got to own one of these though , they are so cool 😎
If only it was called the NSR250r Gull Arm, but it's not. Its just an NSR250r. Doesn't sound a sexy but hey, at least it's not a made up name.
Yeah it’s an NSR250R … with the ‘Gull Arm’ swingarm , there’s no made up name ,just the type of swing arm on that model
no its not, RGV is a dam hand grenade. TZR better in every way
No it’s not what? All My RGV’s were ok , TZR’s are nice for sure
