nice to see so much support for those 2! It is ugly that they were required to play into subtext but then deny it, only in order to attract the audience and make the show especially famous in some circles, like Xena once did. Anyway it remains my fav show of all times! Go R&I!

Or they just want to tell a story of two women being best friends, who love each other more than anything but in a non-sexual way. I love the subtext, but I don't think it's to torture the viewers, there are a lot of relationships like this. I don't think it has anything to do with homophobia.

I don't know... I touch my friends who are girls much more intimately than I touch a person who I hope will someday be my girlfriend, if that makes sense? I am all over most of my friends. They know I'm gay, they know it doesn't mean much... I'm just a physical person.
What I'm trying to say is, intimate touch doesn't necessarily indicate sexual intimacy between women. Though I still like to read it that way in this show ;-)
