I have always had a special place for Michael Jackson because he was exactly 2 weeks older than me. To see what someone my age could accomplish was inspiring to me. Even though his father was abusive to those boys, I will give him credit for taking their talent to the top. He pushed them to be perfectionists in their movements and singing. If they messed up while performing or just practicing, he would beat them and have them do it over and over until they got it right. When they weren't in school they were practicing. No time to be a kid. Sad lives but tremendous talent.

how could someone put so much feeling into a song at that age. he has no idea what love is but you can't tell by the way he sings it and the the way he expresses it. Michael Jackson is my age. and I used to wait for this song to come out during the school dance in Junior high. so I can slow dance with my baby. Yep, I still remember watching the Ed Sullivan Show on Sunday night, the very 1st time the J-5 appeared on TV. We had a black and white television(no color) at that time.🤣 My siblings and I could not believe our eyes or ears!!!! We were mesmerized...imagine seeing kids that looked like us (black) on tv for the very first time!! Not only that, musically they were absolute perfection!! The next day at school, EVERYONE was asking each other, DID YOU SEE WATCH THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW LAST NIGHT...DID YOU SEE THE JACKSON 5???? The hysteria was off the charts. I remember thinking about them ALL DAY in school and I wasn't the only one...they were all everyone talked about that day. YOU just had to be there...there are NO WORDS to describe the EXCITEMENT and PRIDE we as 8, 9, and 10 year olds felt when the J-5 first came on the scene. NO WORDS!My room wall was plastered with every photo and poster I could get my hands on them! ANYONE who wasn't around during that time, TRULY missed out! I'm thankful though, that people can relive the experience to some degree through these posted videos. FUNNY, I used to dream about marrying Jermaine.🤣🤣🤣
Every girl had their favorite! Those were absolute BEST days! PEACE, LOVE, and SOOOOOUL!!
