Richie havens freedom is the sample, they used the chorus the way havens sang it they just changed the words. Also freedom is a good song he played it live at Woodstock.
The chorus is a play on the song that the guitar and chorus come from called “freedom” by Richie Havens. Also tech had his musician re-record the guitar part so they could use it as a sample. Did the same thing Kanye does to get around copyright stuff by re-recording instruments/vocals with different artists etc.

Richie Havens performed a song called "Freedom" at Woodstock and to get the clearance to release the song based on "Freedom" it cost a whole lot!!!! Ritchie Havens did basically a freestyle with an acoustic guitar during Woodstock in 69 and called “Freedom” and it sounds just like how the hook is saying “Speedom”. It’s fire. He was tripping if the stories are correct and went out and wailed on his acoustic guitar and sang a folk style song.

The Anthem was not a KRS-ONE track, it was off of the 1999 Sway & King Tech Album This Or That
What better support can you get from Eminem than having made the song that comes up when you google "Eminem fastest verses".

Tech 9 was super shocked when he sent Eminem a message & told him our budget for ya verse is $50k can you make that work? And EM called him back immediately & said "Bro, how well do you know me? My verse will cost you $0.00 "
Eminem’s a gamble means he wasn’t sure Em would get on the track.
