  • On February 20, FairVote and Black Voters Matter co-hosted a panel discussion at Howard University about ranked choice voting (RCV). Panelists covered how communities of color benefit from RCV, how students can help bring RCV to the nation's capital, and more!
The event was moderated by FairVote's Sabrina Laverty. The panel featured:
    - Lisa Rice, ANC commissioner and proposer of Initiative 83, which would bring RCV to Washington, DC elections and let independents vote in the primary of their choice
    - Vinay Orekondy, coalition director at Rank The Vote
    - Deb Otis, director of research and policy at FairVote
    - Rhyane Wagner, senior policy manager at the Black Voters Matter Fund
