ಕರಗವು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಮತ್ತು ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಕೆಲವು ಭಾಗಗಳ ಜಾನಪದ ನೃತ್ಯವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರೌಪದಮ್ಮ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ದ್ರೌಪದಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿತವಾದ ಆಚರಣೆಯಾಗಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆಯ ದಿನದಂದು ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದ ಮತ್ತು ಹಲವಾರು ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದ ಅಲಂಕಾರಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಮಡಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಚಕರು ಒಯ್ಯುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನರ್ತಕರು 'ಥವಿ', "ನಾದಸ್ವರಂ", "ಮುನಿ", "ಉಡುಕ್ಕ", "ಪಂಬಾ", ಮುಂತಾದ ಹಲವಾರು ವಾದ್ಯಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವಾಗ ವಿವಿಧ ಚಮತ್ಕಾರಿಕ ಸಾಹಸಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರದರ್ಶಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ
ಕರಗವು ಕಳಸ ವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಎತ್ತರದ ಹೂವಿನ ಪಿರಮಿಡ್ ಇದೆ. ಅದು ವಾಹಕದ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಮತೋಲಿತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕಳಸದ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಶತಮಾನಗಳವರೆಗೆ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿದಿವೆ. ಬರಿಯ ಎದೆಯ, ಧೋತಿ ಧರಿಸಿದ, ಪೇಟ ಧರಿಸಿದ ನೂರಾರು ಕತ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತ ವೀರಕುಮಾರರು ವಾಹಕದ ಆಗಮನವನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕರಗ ಹೊತ್ತ ವೀರಕುಮಾರನ ಈ ಉನ್ಮಾದದ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆಯು ಅವನು ಎಡವಿ ಬೀಳಲು ಬಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಗಲ್ಲಿಗೇರಿಸಬಹುದು ಎಂಬುದು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯ
ದ್ರೌಪದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಧರ್ಮರಾಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮಧ್ಯರಾತ್ರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಮೆರವಣಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ನಗರದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಮುಖ್ಯ ಹೂವಿನ ಕರಗಕ್ಕೆ ಎರಡು ದಿನಗಳ ಮೊದಲು ಹಸಿ ಕರಗ ಎಂದು ೨ ವಿಧದ ಕರಗಗಳು ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಆನೇಕಲ್ ನಗರದ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಪಲ್ಲಕ್ಕಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಸಂಚರಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ಹುಣ್ಣಿಮೆಯ ೧೧ ದಿನಗಳ ಮೊದಲು ದ್ವಜಾರೋಹಣದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಗೊಂಡು ಭವ್ಯವಾದ ಸಪ್ತಕಲಶ ಕರಗ ಉತ್ಸವದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕೊನೆಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರಗ ಉತ್ಸವವು ಆನೇಕಲ್‌ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ನೆಲೆಸಿರುವ ತಿಗಳ ಸಮುದಾಯದ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಸಮುದಾಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಸುಮಾರು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಈ ಉತ್ಸವವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ಧರ್ಮರಾಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಕರಗ ಉತ್ಸವದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಭಕ್ತರನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಕರಗವು ಸಮೀಪದ ಹಳ್ಳಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 2,00,000 ಜನರನ್ನು ಆಕರ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಜನರು ಈ ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಬಂಧುಗಳನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿ ನಗರದ ಇಡೀ ಬೀದಿ ಮನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಣಿ ದೀಪಗಳಿಂದ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿ ಮನೆಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ರಂಗೋಲಿ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ಕರಗವನ್ನು ಶ್ರದ್ಧಾ ಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಕರಗದ ದಿನದಂದು ಜನರು ದ್ರೌಪದಿ ದೇವಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Karaga of Anekal Taluk, Karaga of Anekal Nagar is the Karaga that made the entire state of Karnataka famous, this Karaga of our Anekal Nagar.
Karaga is a folk dance of Karnataka and some parts of Karnataka that originated as a ritual dedicated to Draupadi, known as Draupadamma in these parts. The celebration is held on the full moon day.
A ritual pot filled with water and decorated with ornaments several feet high is carried by the priest. Dancers perform various acrobatic feats while following the procession with various instruments like 'Thavi', "Nadaswaram", "Muni", "Udukka", "Pamba", etc. The karaga is a kalasa with a tall flower pyramid on it. It is balanced on the carrier's head. The contents of the trash remained a mystery for centuries. Bare-chested, dhoti-clad, turbaned warriors bearing hundreds of swords announce the arrival of the carrier. Tradition has it that this frenzied march of the enraged hero could get him hanged if he stumbles.
In the name of Draupadi and Dharmaraya Swamy, the procession usually starts at midnight and visits all the houses in the city. Two days before the main flower molt there are 2 types of molts called raw molts. The palanquin of all the gods in the town of Anekal Nagar travels across the village. Every year starts with Dwajarohana 11 days before the full moon and ends with the grand Saptakalasha Karaga Utsav.Karaga Utsav is a traditional community function of Tigla community who mostly reside in Anekal Nagar and they have been conducting this festival for almost years. Sri Dharmaraya Swamy Temple attracts thousands of devotees during Karaga Utsav. Karaga attracts around 2,00,000 people from nearby villages and towns.People invite their friends and relatives for this festival and decorate the entire street houses of the city with string lights and draw rangoli in front of the houses to welcome Karaga with devotion. People offer prayers to Goddess Draupadi on the day of Karaga.
