- Plane food for me has always been a bad experience, so I wanted to travel 100 years to see if plane foods were any good!
Big shoutout to @ice.karimcooks for helping me taste test all the decades

I have mad respect for this man bringing back the classics and making the modern-day foods at the same time
Yup same
What’s crazy is that he buyed every plane for this video

i flew back to the US in 1995. i ordered a lasagna which looked weird, so my uncle switched me for his chicken parm. both were actually good and we ended up sharing the meals together. i didnt fly again until i was in college in the late 2000s, and except for one flight the food has been really good
also as an aside, since the 1990s people from Guatemala and El Salvador regularly buy Pollo Campero and bring it on the plane ride back to the US. its amazing. i'm Honduran, we don't have them, but I DO have salvi family and oh man the experience is awesome. the smell of perfect fried chicken all over the plane
That sounds nice
Dang, you old
Never judge a food by its looks. Last time I also had a lasagna that looked slimy but I gobbled it up anyway and it was sooo good
And to be honest, I’ve never ate lasagna
we want more 100 years series!! It's so satisfying to watch.

GIVE US 100YEARS OF DINNER
1:46
That cup straight up melted 💀💀
Das fact
Bro rated a McDonald’s meal with 5 but the steamed veggies and pasta with 1, most American moment ever
And the tv dinner too 😭 I dunno those are cheap and I think taste decently good for being a tv dinner so I dunno
So? The 1970s meal which also had steamed vegetables was also rated a 5, what's your point doofus?
When my parents and I came to the US in the early 2000s, I distinctly remember having a kids meal on the plane. Thank you guys for letting me relive my childhood memories!

Patrick: it had to be cold because they didn’t have anything to heat it up
Also Patrick: HOT tea
You can keep boiled water hot for several hours with hot water bottles.
In remote Australia we still get weighed before we get on flights and inflight services is whatever you bring 😂
Surprised that both 00s and 10s wasn't just a can of pop poured into a cup and a bag of 4 pretzels, like my experience has been.
I was born in 2000 I got the same thing you had on the airplane
@@hoyori465or peanuts
Well on short flights you're gonna get that or it could be a snack
Can anyone tell me what nine eleven means

As a real life commercial airline pilot, I can say this video was entertaining. There are three things I thought could’ve been done better which are one, foods varied depending on the airline and how long/big the flight is. Two, there are many different types of aircraft so saying “this is what a plane looked like at the time” is a little vague. Last, You are an amazing chef so it’s hard to tell what the actual food of the time period was like because you make it better than they probably did back then. Please don’t take this comment as some sort of criticism as it isn’t supposed to be. I think I’m just picky. Keep up the good work my friend!

1:54 I'm just thinking of all the microplastics in that steaming cup of water from the cup and the teabag.
Patrick I'm an aviation enthusiast so here are the aircraft that you used in your video
1910 - Handley Page aircraft
1920 - Tin Goose
1930 - DC3
1940 - Lockheed R7V-2 (In commercial Lockheed Constellation)
1950 - DC-6B
1960 - Boeing 747-200
1970 - Boeing 747-200 (Again from Iberia)
1980 - DC 10
1990 - Boeing 737 - 300
2000 - L1011 Tristar
2010 - Boeing 787-9

Damn you’re good
Random fact: $60 in the 1920’s is equalvalent to about $925 today, so, its basically flying first class for a hour long flight
Damn
Man, you did such a good job looking up an inflation calculator to give people useless info that they should already know unless they're under the age of 10
@@jacksonparks1427 Oh because everyone knows the exact inflation conversions off the top of their heads. I bet you didn’t know 60 dollars today was equivalent to 925 dollars in the 1920’s until you saw that comment. Hush
@@jacksonparks1427 bro, not everyone here is 10. Shut up.
@@jacksonparks1427 💀 yikes dude
The 1930s meal looks honestly good.
It depends on the airline. Each airline gives their own cultural food. If you go to American Airlines you get pizza and a burger, if you go to Japan airline you probably will get sushi. It depends on their national food.
But this was also spanning time generations. They prob were serving diff shit on Japan airlines back then
Really enjoyed trying these foods with you! I still can’t believe they served McDonald’s on the plane 😂😂😂
Love you man
Good to eat
Your hair is cool bro
You two are the besstt combo!!
You can't believe it because they didn't. Or if they did it was maybe less than on 1% of flights I'd bet

IT IS SO TRUE
I worked for a couple years in airline catering as a food checker, looking mostly at US domestic flights. The 2000's meals were close to what I normally saw, though most the entrees were frozen before being packed on the plane. Most airlines didn't really pack special order meals from what I remember, except for Air Canada.
I do remember Virgin Airlines having some really wacky stuff for their first class meals such as banana sushi and a tiramisu that melted in refrigerated temperatures. One of the flight coordinators told me that there was a lot of wasted food as people wouldn't really eat some of it.
Fun Fact: Frozen TV Dinners started out as a way to give military air crews a way to eat a hot meal
1960: 747 PanAm
1970: 747 Iberia
1980: DC-10 United airlines (this was the plane crash of United Airlines flight 232)
1990: 737-200 Orion
2000:Lockheed L1-011 TWA
2010: 787 United
i love videos like this where you can experiment from the pass til now
interesting, makes you wanna jump in the past to see what is like to eat certain foods
This was so dope! Love the 100yr series 🫶🏼 The steak was my fav decade!
100y of prison foods next 👀
That’s actually a good idea!
After that tell him to do 100 years of military food
And maybe 100 years of hospital food
My favorite decade is the 50’s and the 90’s. Bro its just amazing
One thing I like about this review, is that you look in the lens of the customer when eating.

I think that travel duration helps, because on 1 hours flys from Costa Rica to Panama you get a bag of chips 😂

Partick: "One plane"
1990s Airlines: *serves mcdonalds*
Patirck: "Five planes"

I love this video you should do I cooked 100 years of train Food because I know back from the 1910s to the 1940s. A lot of people were still using trains instead of planes back in the day. I’d love to see a video on that! 😃🚂
Five likes and no replies 🤨,lemme fix that
The ending 😂 was the funniest part😊
I have an idea for the next video of this sort: ‘I Cooked 100 years of average home food’ (basically something where you can cook the average meal made at home from 100 years)
I love these types of videos ❤
Honestly I love these original ideas keep cooking!
the switch up at 2000 was wild
A chocolate chip cookies wasn’t even invented in 1910s it was invented in the late 1930s 😂
Doesnt matter, they probably didnt know and just expected it so they added a cookie, But your pretty smart ^v^
Same with the TV Dinner. It was invented in the 1950s, not in the 1940s.
The ideas you are coming with is so satisfying and unique making your channel worth subscribing... and I do go with karim's rates not gonna lie 😂😂
Do yourself proud by being the one to make it happen and 🎉🎉 congratulations to you and 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I 🎉hope you have a great day and enjoy it
From 1910 to 1920 plane fares went from $5.00 to $60.00??? WTF??!! Talk about inflation! Plus, here in 2023, you can get some tickets UNDER $60.00.

You could do 100 years of military food
WoW Man 🔥🔥🔥 this is so great 👍👍👍 Plz keep doing this kind of videos ❤❤❤
Now we need 100 years of food that serve on ships
My favorite era has got to be between 1950s-1970s.
First slob in the 1940s when they were first putting it out of the can I literally thought it looked like mac and cheese I literally thought it looked like the hard part on the top of the mac and cheese
keep making this kind of vids, they entretain me a lot when i have nothing better to do, keep going i love your vids
A Boeing 707 would be more respectable for the 1960s, the 747 was just made it had a lot of customers by the 1970s and 1980s. Also, instead of a L-1011 for the 2000s, a 757, 767, or 777 would've suited the 2000s a bit better because the L-1011 was being replaced by the MD-11, 737, 757, 767, and A330. Other than that, great vid!
i appreciated the effort, u got a sub ;)
IT ALL LOOKS GOOD
These videos are very entertaining! Keep it up
Next I really want to see 100 years of movie 🍿 food
The 90s was the best year for McDonald’s
Hi, this was a very entertaining and nicely made video - thanx 👍🤓🤓
8:22 Fun fact: that photo of a Pan Am Boeing 747 was likely taken in the 1970s (the 747 was introduced in 1969, and Pan Am was actually the first airline to fly the 747)
14:39 wait what L-1011 ain’t a 2000s plane that’s a 70s plane
Still the Boeing 747 was introduced in the decade of 1960s but you're right
@@AresGoldie747 The 737 also came up in the 1960s, as did the 727 and the DC-9.
I like how planes started and ended with a sandwich as the main course
The 1970s really had LOBSTER TAIL as a main dish. Im so jealous of my parents right now.
My mom's mom was born in the 1940's (literally a year after WW2 ended), my dad's mom was born in the 1950's, my dad's dad in the 1960's (him and my dad's mom are 4 years apart), my aunt (my mom's sister) was also born in the 1960's (not the same year), my uncles (my mom's 2 brothers) were born in the 1970's, and my parents in the 1980's. So it's kind of interesting for me to learn what plane food was like for them when they were kids and teens.
To a sandwich
To a lobster
To McDonald's
Back to a sandwich 😂😂
thanks for the input aarthav
Still gotta add the 1900s and 2020s into your 100+ years of cooking videos
This is fun watching but I really don't recognise any of the food. Certainly didn't have it on Icelandair flights :D Typical food for the longest time was some chicken thing with scrambled eggs. Now of course you just get the option of buying assorted (heated) sandwiches, a pizza slice or maybe an oatmeal bowl. I had the most amazing food on Etihad Airways flight to Australia though in 2010. Á la carte stuff!
You should do a 100 years of first class airplane food because this seems like 100 years of economy food.
18:10 wait this is not a real plane, this is on stage
I love Patrick's cooking it's so easy and delicous 😊😊
Everything on the 50 is awesome. Pasta, my only weakness
I can’t believe that started the 100 years of school lunches
3:09 That 1930's plane, it reminds me of the same crashed plane in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
It is the plane 😂
This a yummy timelines he is kinda like a time patroller that cooks decades 😂
