@@LolaBugzy85 lol I was also like you until I came across this video and realized that kumbe it's not even that hard. The good thing with chapos is that the more make them the easier the process becomes. You'll even be excited and always looking forward to cooking them.
Guess what Kaluhi!!!!! I followed your recipe and for once I enjoyed my own chapati.....and imagine they had layers, soft and nice, that was yesterday morning.... Tomorrow morning am cooking again!!! Na hata zile shape this time naona nimejaribu Sana... This one. ..I must subscribe.... Thanks Kaluhi....
I was looking for a chapati recipe yesterday and as soon as I saw this one I was sure I wanted to try it. My first time cooking chapati, and I couldn't believe it was made by me. I heard my wife tell my son, "kumbe your dad is a chapati expert na hajawai tupikia." My first time, perfect chapati. Thank you Kaluhis kitchen.
Oooh I love your videos and I am learning so much about cooking East African foods. It's exciting! You're helping to turn this Yank into a good Kenyan wife! Thanks :-)
You are a great teacher. A delight. I am friends with a Congolese family and their 12 year old was asking for the the recipe. they are from the Northeast region of the DRC and I am wondering if they would like this recipe? I would hope you can write it out because I would have to watch this many times before I got the ingredients correct!
Thank you very much for your clear demonstration. You did it so well, that i learnt it very well. I have tried the steps with whole grain flour and they came out nice! Thank you Chef. Please upload more tips!
i loved how you took as step for step but i wish you were more informative when actually cooking it ( in the pan ) thanks so much though keep up the good work
Hey Kaluhi these are an absolute winner!!! Hands down the best Chapatis. They are super soft, fluffy, layered and golden brown. The first time I tried these they were too over salted so I adjusted the measure of salt from the recommend 1 tablespoon of salt, instead I use 2-3 pinches. Keep up the great work!
Your 15 minutes makes sense. Kneading causes the gluten strands to get stronger and longer. However, if too much gluten is formed then the bread dough does not stretch so easily. This will cause the chapos to become tough and chewy. Relaxing or resting the dough reduces the elasticity of the dough making it easier to roll out.
@@Kaluhiskitchen Thank you for your reply to my question. I am Bantu speaker from Namibia living in Minnesota, USA, but I don't understand your native language in which you responded to my question.
Wengine wetu tukipika chapo tunamake sure ni ya one week...lol! Aty 5🤣🤣🤣for who...no one likes the redoing the whole process in our home. Loved the video😍
1. The video is for BEGINNERS. beginners start with small quantities before making huge portions. 2. On this day i was alone, so it makes sense to make 5 ,instead of 20900 chapos, coz i was alone. 3. It's ok of you make 30000 chapo for a whole week , and its also ok if someone else makes 5 coz they live alone or they are practicing. There is no blueprint 4. Just coz i made 5 on this day does not mean even when i have guests, I make five🤣😂. Common sense, no?
@@Kaluhiskitchen I was just pointing out the differences. I rarely cook when in school but I have noted down a few favorites from your channel and I cannot wait for the holidays to come. To more amazing videos!
Me too...I couldn't eat it! :( I think a tablespoon of salt is too much...should have been a pinch of salt!! I would have preferred if this was mentioned in the video...
hi y'all can someone please help me out here. i made the chapos just like kaluhi instructed and they came out perfect. sad thing is once they cooled down or became cold they became hard. when i warmed them they became soft again. how do i make them soft when hot or cold
