Framerate dipping to 36-40fps AND screen tearing in performance mode is a complete joke. I really feel like I was scammed by getting this game at launch. The fact that games like Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Forbidden West and others can run so smooth at much higher resolutions makes me so angry. Forced RT is breaking the game and FSR is nowhere near as good as DLSS at upscaling lower resolutions.
You need to learn the difference between an internal base resolution the console doesn't output vs the resolution the console outputs after reconstruction
It's a real shame they didn't make a non-RT mode for consoles, on PC the game still looks great without RT, though I've never bothered even turning RT on because of all the crash reports. Of course the game still crashes every 15 minutes whether you have RT or not.
I’m no fanboy of any of these 2 consoles but seriously the Xbox series x is useless. When I got both these systems at launch my thought was ps5 for the exclusives and series x for the 3rd party games as they will run and perform a little better since the hardware is more “powerful” wow was I wrong. Almost every 3rd party game is better on the ps5.

Look at the Series S performance in that water area. It's a locked 30 while the biggest consoles are well under. That's our answer. Allow us to turn off RT and both modes on the bigger consoles will become significantly smoother.

Wow, performance mode runs at lower resolutions than Series S, keeping RT on is bloody costly. For as impressive as FSR2 is, it does struggle when trying to reconstruct up from quarter resolution like on Series X and PS5.
Please can you do a frame rate test of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania on PS5. I feel like it has occasional stuttering, and it's distracting, but no one else really has brought it up
The game looks like shit and runs like shit. The settings on ps5 performance mode is like low settings on pc being rendered at 700p and upsacles to 1296p. That's very sad. It's a horrible experience
They are prioritizing visuals and "open world" game concepts over optimization. In Jedi Survivor on console there is forced RT, always on, no setting to turn it off. I suspect that is doing the most damage to the framerate in Performance Mode.
I am hoping a few more patches let performance run without RTX. Going from Horizon FW to Zelda and back to this just feels like I'm all over the place.

When I started the game, looking out toward all the buildings in Coruscant, I instantly turned back to and kept it on Resolution mode as the performance mode is just too blurry and the 60fps was not steady enough. I enjoyed the experience enough and thought it looked very good despite it being 30fps and not being entirely consistent. Also, I like consistency between cutscenes and gameplay. It felt like it was meant to be played in 30fps considering it's the default. This game and Callisto Protocol are two games this generation that the 30fps is preferable over the performance mode to me, otherwise 60fps in all other games.
