Played this song senior year in HS. I played the timpani part. Our band killed it that year during festival season. We played so well and in such good time he told us he didn't even know why he was conducting because we killed it so hard. Wish I could go back in time and play it again.
I just graduated a few months ago and I miss my director with all my heart. She was like a mother figure to me growing up in a rough home life, and I will never forget those years I spent in band.
Richard Saucedo is one of my favorite composers, and my community band finally gets a chance to play one of his pieces! I haven't listened to this piece for a while. I'm so excited to playing this one!
It’s supposed to make it easier for younger bands to count with the alternating 2/4 3/8 instead of just writing it in 7/8. At least that’s what my band teacher told us.
Vivada saucedo tends to do that a lot, not sure where his defining line between what “grade” of music that he’d write it in 7/8 but for most of his more recent non grade 5 stuff will have it subdivided in to a 2/4 or 3/4 measure with a 3/8
Weird Thing to Say But I think Trumpet 2 At Measure 110 should Have the D and C Sharp While Trumpet 3 Should Have B and A Sharp and Trumpet 1 Just has G and F Sharp

I also play the timpani part, but it's just for fun. I use books to practice. Recently, I've memorized it.
no way I'm also playing the timpani part in high school 😭
hey i’m on timpani too!
The timpani part is so much fun

I actually had the please of playing with Saucedo with this song. I’m happy to say.
i love the section at 2:52, it sounds like a variation of "america" from west side story
After only being able to find the march, I have found the concert band song! Pog.
Finally!!
Played this my 8th grade year bass clarinet, I am so proud of playing this song
Got to play this in 7th grade as a fun little piece we didn't play at any concerts but this was fun
Been waiting four years to play this!
I know Tad Barnes didn’t just comment on American barn-dance💀
A lovely piece! will order it for sure!
buy me robux
Played this piece in 7th grade a few years ago for all-county. It was one of my favorites.
Damn other states really do have better music programs, we’re playing this in my sophomore year, I couldn’t even imagine playing it in 7th grade
nobody cares
Holy crap I played this as a sophomore, I'm proud of you cause I struggled with this a little
Dr.Saucedo is our clinician for our County band i found it kinda strange that that the same guy who made the music was conducting us
is there a reason why at 2:46 measure 65 he didnt make it 7/8; that would have been a lot neater

@@tromboneboi8593 i can see that, but this is grade 4 so i don't think younger bands will be playing this

It looks funny this way
It's so that the so that the song doesn't lose that forward drive
