I enjoyed the show. Thumbs up for Steve. The apparent simplicity of the picture making is engaging! I like the tips that make the painting so efficient! Great sense of composition!

Thanks for the fun video! I found a similar frame at Goodwill a few months ago. Snapped it right up. Good condition. $4.

Completely "invented" paintings always look fake, because they Are, alla Bob Ross. You don't want that! But having said that, most paintings have a certain amount of "invention"; we call it "designing". Taking the reference and adding or deleting features of the landscape, mostly, and coming up with a pleasing composition. Other genres maybe, say if you only have lemons and want a lime in you still life, that would be an easy example. Good video!

did you watch the video through to the very end? They were having technical difficulties. He came back on and actually finished three paintings altogether :)

@pedroden6561 Yup, I thought they were all unfinished, too. But he had limited time, and he did it all while reaching around the camera and keeping up with all the chit-chat. I'm sure he will get back and finish them if he feels like it. They were tiny paintings and someone's going to have them!
