These things are so fast! Sometimes sucks though when you get too much inside curb or put too much brake pressure on and your rear end screws you over, but otherwise, great kart for racing. Especially when the track is green and you can slide around.
Wearing a rib vest is not only an improvement in safety, it also typically makes longer races in high performance karts much more comfortable by distributing the cornering loads
Was doing track inspection and in group 1 of practice .doing some sweeping and in a rush and did not use rib protector . 2 weeks later and minor tender spots 😂😂 . One thing never not use is knee pads to protect inside of knees . Went from rental to Briggs and now back in rentals . Injury wrecked life as it was . My throttle leg still not the same . Was set to get a new CRG and it all fell apart . The one thing that sucked running Masters was the extra weight . Had close to 40 lbs of weight due to my lack of weight ! For what was my last race did a DNF for pre final and pulled the weight . WOW what a difference after 4 years of it 😁😁🏁. Do a part time schedule and 4 podiums in 5 races ! The late 30's me was alot tougher than the mid 50's me !! Still love to race and living in Canada makes it a very long 5 month off season . Enjoy all the seat time you can get ! Minus any expense of stuff breaking . Blowing up a new engine sucks 🤬. Ran a box stock series with a 99 dollar engine and zero issues !
I know that road! Did A+D and was also track Marshall for Club + A+D. The track put a Briggs together for me! This will be my 4th year with my own Kart! Ended A+D as champ and now a top 10 is like a win!!😁.Not a great mechanic but get seat time hang out with a bunch of good people and watch some awesome racing!!
Yeah, I race it most times I go out to DKC because it's just so fun/exhilarating. Definitely give it a shot when you get a chance, it's quite the beast!
Great Video!!! I'm in arrive and drive at my local track and the karts are good but I wanted to get into Briggs lo206 league but I'm not sure if my dad is willing to pay 5k because you are required to have your own kart. I'm kinda nervous to ask if i can race in the Briggs Lo206 class 😢😢
Definitely look at the used route. New stuff is good but maybe find a compromise with new chassis and a used motor. Lots of different ways to get in but yeah, the startup cost is the tough part. If your track rents them, I’d recommend giving one a test to see if you like them.
I recognize ur name, u race at goodwood right? I remember hearing ur name at arrive and drive races. I’m selling my old kart for like 2000 btw. U can find so many used ones on Kijiji
i race ka100..you talk about fun. i used to race briggs but its nothing compared to ka100. and my kart sest is pretty comfortable for me. maybe you just have the wrong seat lol.
Hey Jon. The seat definitely wasn't fitted for me. It was more of a "jump in and go" kind of thing but being comfortable is also something for people to think about who are just starting out with karting. But yes, it was more sitting on the seat than actually in it. lol. I did weigh about 30 pounds more than I do now when I filmed this. #ThiccBoy
I've seen someone put a kart on top of a Civic and someone else store one inside of a van. They also make small trailers designed for transporting karts which most cars can tow. There are a few options out there.
@@PaulSlavonikHad a 05 Focus wagon and only had to take front bumper off ! Seen one guy stuff everything into a 2 door Integra !! Also did double duty as a track marshal so it also made a perfect bed for double header weekends ! At the time we also had a oval at Mosport ! Never had a bad Saturday night there ! The main track offered me a position which was a huge honor but heart in karting ! Don't race as much now but still love it !!

You can get a good used cart ready to run for about 3000.

How do you get to drive one?
I was invited to take one for a test drive at my local track in Texas. However, they're also available to rent for 10 minute sessions.
What I don't understand is how TF do you transport these carts around from one track to another after you buy one? Just buy a pickup truck??
