- Apparently no Kazumi until Z3.2. Either way, Gunbuster is still the best for sure.
By the way, Noriko's Ace Bonus casts every spirit in the game on herself except for Mercy and Disturbance when she reaches 150 Will.
Her VA is still amazing even after all these years
She's in her 50s already...maybe she's just like Noriko who'll never gonna turn 18 :)

And man, I knew we weren't getting Super Inazuma Kick without Kazumi, but I don't think Gunbuster itself ever used a regular Inazuma Kick, so it was really surprising to see it here!
I also kinda wonder if we'll get a Double Buster Collider, but with the regular one being as awesome as it is, I'm alright with not having it!
And to end off this comment, that sounds like a pretty fantastic ace bonus! You could really do some great damage with that if you're in the right place.

It's too bad Asuka's death is probably canon and it's the movie and not the series... If that weren't the case, we'd be getting the combo attack between Shinji and Asuka, then a quadraple Super Inazuma Kick.

My first time checking out Gunbuster. Doesn't take away from the awesome in the least, but surprisingly little 'gun' than the name would imply. :3
Lack of Kazumi must mean this takes place between episodes 5 and 6, when she is back on earth. It is an interesting way to keep a unit from being at full power though.
Actually, no. According to the dialogue after she appeared, this Noriko is from after ep 6. She out right admit that she has no idea why Kazumi disappeared after the Black Hole bomb swallowed them. It would seem that her 12000 year skip sent her into Aquarion EVOL's time zone. We may really get Diebuster next game.
As to why Gunbuster magically repaired itself, I guess the development team just hand waved it off with Guts and Hard Work.

I reread the dialogue again, and I was wrong about the hand wave. Apparently the damaged Gunbuster arrived some time ago before chapter 35 and was picked up by Ryuma in a block of ice. They seemed to repair the 240m machine to the best of their ability.

So we have Gunbuster and Gurren Lagann, Mazinger Z and Getter Robo in this. Now all that is need is GaoGaiGar and we have the 5 hotblooded badasses of the mecha genre. And if Gunleon returns in Z3.2 we will have 6 hotblooded units.

I LOVE gunbuster. But I would not use the unit in this very much. limited attacks make this version feel like something at the bottom of a bargain bin in some basement shopping mall.
it's the first part of a two-part game and gunbuster isn't a focus series like CCA or TTGL are in this game. i'm sure all the missing attacks will be back in part 2. plus, how can you not love those animations?

"limited attacks"? Gunbuster is just under the TTGL tier of super robots in Z3. Are you going to say Trider and Godmars are more useful even though they've got weaker weapons, lower range, lower stats, smaller size, etc.?
Besides, if you actually loved Gunbuster you'd use it regardless of your delusion that it's crappy and equip it with parts that improve whatever imagined shortcomings you're imagining make it garbage compared to Jegans and Boss Borot.

HaouRex Buster Tomahawk Boomerang/Double Tomahawk aren't needed. It's missing the Home Run, Super Inazuma Kick, and Double Buster Collider.
Double Tomahawk looks better than this Tomahawk attack.

Of course it can't, IT'S WILL IS LOWERED DUE TO ITS SECONDARY PILOT MISSING. And not to mention, its also probably only running on ONE Degeneracy reactor instead of two thanks to the Block Hole bomb.
Don't complain too much, we will getting it of sure in Z3.2.

Gunbuster was designed with a tomahawk, however it was deemed to be too out of place for the actual series. You can see it during the combination sequence of you look close enough.
