    Best PS5 repair technition on RUclips. You are not just changing components on guesses but based on measurements and logic. This is really rare. Thank you for sharing alll these videos! May I ask you what microscope camera are you using? It is quite impressive. And what is that red mat surface you work on? I use the blue silicone but it warps from heat and causing troubles....Thank you!

      My microscope camera is a very cheap generic Chinese HD camera. So cheap it doesn't have a brand name on it. Very similar to this: www.ebay.com/itm/235263493757
      Red mat: www.amazon.com/dp/B0833NZQ19

      @@ToltecMerc many thanks for your reply. One last question. Are you using a ring light fir the microscope camera or a gooseneck light. I already bought like 3 different cameras up to 240€ and non if them is even close to yours...

    Really informative with how you isolated the short when the thermal cam didnt pick up, maybe it would have with the thermal putty removed, but still very helpful process as i dont have a thermal cam, i learned a lot with this vid on isolating the short.
    Awesome work as always

      In this case, the MOSFET had shorted through from input to output. It wasn't going to show any heat. The heat was developed across the APU which has a path to ground.

    Delighted to be your subscriber all this year. Merry Christmas to you and your family, sir. Greetings from Mexico.
    PS: As soon as I saw how long the video was going to be, I quickly started looking for my notebook... For me, that corrosion was caused by a liter of spilled coffee that was not cleaned up immediately (that same day), efficient and neat work, thank you very much for sharing. All the best.

    That board was a mess and thought no way then I had to remind myself that it was in you who was looking at it so "no way" changed to "maybe". I bet that board had been through a number of hands too before it got lucky and landed on your workbench. That was an interesting approach measuring the resistance while cleaning the board do not think I have seen that done before seems like a good idea. @@ToltecMerc or you could just use hot air while soldering when it’s only some pads that you tin. I use 280C to 300C to go over the pads when the ic is on, so the whole ic doesn’t flow but got enough heat to make your life easier, just saying 🤷‍♂️

    I noticed your flux seems to burn rather quick. you could try using AMTECH VS-213-A-TF which is a little different, but it doesn't burn so quick. Worth considering. It's a little more expensive than AMTECH NC-559-V2-TF. BTW I enjoyed watching you hunt down that voltage regulator. Cheers!

    • @ToltecMerc
      @ToltecMerc  Год назад +1

      I just use cheap Kingbo flux. I don't usually have a problem with it burning but some of these chips take so much heat to remove and install, it does eventually happen.
