I finished "Never Night" by Jay Kristoff yesterday and oh wow I just loved it. I will be pre-ordering the next being it comes out in September!
Honestly, your excitement makes me want to pick them all up right now.
But, there are limits in the budget, so... I'm going to relax and wait :D

I read the first book awhile ago, and I found it really enjoyable. You are right, there is a "three Musketeers ", feel to it for sure. I was hoping that they would record the books in audio, I think they would have sounded fantastic!
Oh, and so many of the laugh out loud moments. It's very rare to have found something that actually made me burst out in giggles. Quite embarrassing on the train I tell you.

+Kitty G not as bad as when you have headphones, hidden by hair and people think you're just randomly laughing 😳 i was at subway the other day and i had a big grin on my face from the first book in a pattern of shadow and light and the characters made me laugh out loud 👀 it was quite embarrassing. Audiobooks are dangerous 😔

It sounds by your description that it's fairly old fashioned sword and sorcery dominated by male characters. Does the series have any decent female characters?
+Joseph Fernandez a few good females but they aren't as major as the men sadly. They're not bad though, there's some good moment with them :)
Kitty G Maybe we've been spoiled lately with so many great female characters in SFF but it's hard for me to get into any novel sized work that doesn't have at least one major female POV character. It's not just a representation thing... to me a work that focuses primarily on males just isn't that interesting anymore.
Joseph Fernandez I can understand that fully! It should just be a norm!
