Hi I am a retired RN 62 y/o as long as I can remember. I listened to the stories of the older folks talk about their farm and chicks. It was because of the stories, the enlightment in the faces of the folks and wisdom that was bestowed onto me that made me want chicken so bad. So as life has it Sept 2019 I had 4 Creme Crested Leghorn chicks 4-5 days old delivered via mail pick up (Not knowing how this processed worked). a call at 630am come pick up your chicks. I was so excited everything was ready..... thanks to so many homestead YT folks out there. They have been the best well, one of the best things in my life Since receiving them they are DIVAS. have not layed yet, any day now, but ready and so excited.... So many thanks to all of the Homesteaders YTing out there thank you so much.....
I’m newer to the channel and haven’t gotten to see ur property green, only with snow. My gosh that land is gorgeous!!!!! I pray all of ur plans and dreams come forth quickly. I love watching your family ... big ppl, little ppl and all of ur animals 💗💗
Whitehouse on the Hill. Have you considered raising parrots? I did for about 15 years. African gray is the best. Small birds will pay for you seeds and equipment, but the money is in the larger birds.
Another great video! Thank you for the explanation of why an Emu. It's great to hear everyone's opinions! You learn so much. Everyones videos are lovely and so are all of you!!! 🐣🐣🐣🐣VOTE BAMBOO FOR PRESIDENT IN 2020! He came from a "good egg" and won't scramble his message. If you don't understand then the "Yolks" on you🐣🐣🐣🐣........ I know. Dad jokes, even though I'm a mom (self defense is I got it from MY dad)****
Just started listening to your podcast in order so I'm back near the beginning. Today I got to your first show about the decision to do sheep vs a lawnmower. I'm looking at getting sheep, it's the real reason I was searching for homestead type podcasts to begin with. Do you have some other resources, podcasts, reading suggestions, etc regarding sheep? Would like to know your experiences, the ups and downs, things you learned, and the economics of it. I could only do small scale as I've got only 2 acres but have access to low cost hay. Thank you and I look forward to listening to the rest of the podcasts. #askhomesteady
They are actually tasty 😋 as a child my family had a few and dad fixed them for a bar b q .. getting them from running around to the table was quite an adventure 🙊
We had a great time, Aust! Thanks for having us on the show!
White House on the Hill hello what chicken breed or animals you will have on the farm

That’s crazy that I’ve watched there channel this long I already knew all the stuff they said
Nice interview
Nice pick for a guest!
JO JO IN VT 💕☃ 😊
Joanne Ganon - 😉
Definitely taking the Emus because I can eat them and have fun😊👍
I heard some people use Emu's for protection against coyotes as well - is that true?
My dad watched a protective emu mother stomp a coyote flat as a pancake. And it kept stomping on it long after it was dead. I would say yes.
Emu tastes amazing. Can’t tell the difference between them and beef. Why isn’t anyone eating them here
The oldest tale a man ever told his wife lol “she’s pregnant how do I get this scheme to pass!?” 😂😂
Fish make good chicken chow. Orchards do as well
Yum! "Mice cream" hahaha 😅
Love bamboo...so excitded to get 2 pet emu's.
Will they run off small preditors?
Jake and becky are like me and my dad (im jake, trying to talk my dad into animals i have my own youtube channel now)
Ordering quail as eggs
Have chickens, and not ordering more this year. 2 species enough for 2020.
The correct pronunciation of emu is to say each letter but run them together E m U.
I disagree memoo is the only way to pronounce it 😉
Emyoo 😉
Emu are so cheap to have around : )
I be eating the emus
