For ‘N’ - Ned Kelly! For all your Aussie fans. He’s a famous Outlaw here, known for his suit of armour he fashioned. Would go well with the Bonnie & Clyde theme
If you go ahead with making a bait pond, then tilapia might be a good species for it. They can survive and spawn in much shallower waters than other fish and grow fairly fast with pure vegetation diets so no need for more fish pellets. They also wont harm the main pond if they survive in there, and any that get too big for the bass will be good eating.
You have created a whole ecosystem in your backyard, thats so awesome! Cant wait for more episodes.. wish they were longer though, could watch 1hr episodes easy, so much going on. Keep up the good work!
I’m just fascinated how the addition of a pond like this can completely change/enhance the entire ecosystem of the area. Amazing! Idea for upcoming year: tree houses for birds. Even just putting a flat space up high for eagles to nest.
Thx to this video series I'm gonna drain my 2 acre pond dig it out and make it wider. Then restock it the same way you did. I'm 30 min north of Bham. I'm gonna do it next summer when it's not raining as much.

It's so nice to see the fish underwater! Some of those bass are getting to be big submarines. They seem very happy and healthy, swimming around with the bluegills.

@@dylanzrim3635 They have not been recorded to hybridize with Mallards but they will (rarely) hybridize with members of the Bucephala genus. One of them (the Bufflehead, Bucephala albeola) was seen in a video prior.
I think some hardy water lilies or American Lotus and some marginal/shoreline plants like arrowhead, and Iris would make it look more natural and probably help with water quality too. Maybe these are a straight No for a bass pond..? But plants would seem to be a plus for the fish and birds that you have there. Of course they would require some maintenance, but if you limit what's planted it would be more straightforward. ...?
I've got a 5ac lake and 1/2ac bait pond. We grow bluegill, redear, and minnows in the bait pond. It's great for us since I have access to minnows for crappie fishing the lake any time I want. I would probably stick with bluegill for your bait pond. It's probably not as glamorous as prawns which is what I think you're going after, but bluegills are the money fish. Also you could take about 20 from your lake to stock the pond and save money there.
Can’t wait to watch you build the new bait pond, I’m guessing your bait pond will be freshwater shrimp whatever you do will be awesome more cool cabins around your pond to rent short term would be fun hope that eagle does not eat too many of your fish anything you post is great, I think maybe two videos a week wouldn’t hurt my feelings as I look forward to them every week
I'm thinking more of freshwater prawns, any that get too big for fish food could go on the grill. Your Aussie viewers would call them 'shrimp on the barbie'.
Merry Christmas BamaBass and everyone. Have watched this series from the start. Just a beautiful thing to see all the progress. Love the motorized spy cam decoys.
I think having a trout bait pond would be really cool, couldn't do it in the summer because they'd die. Maybe winter though? Would be a great snack for when those bass get big.
Everything looks amazing... when you do your bait pond. You should do a recirculating filtration/water flow system from pond to pond so your water levels and bacteria levels are always the same. Not sure if i mentioned this before... elevated with a downhill outflow to the big pond and powered back to the bait pond...
I randomly found your channel an I've followed the pond build so far an I love it. I really think a gazebo would look really nice near the pond an give a nice place to eat outside or relax near the pond. Hope you see this 🙂.
I live out west, there’s NOTHING BETTER for a largemouth bass than a healthy trout. They are the lobster of the largemouth world. These bass out here will pass up gizzards, threadfin, blue gill and crappie just waiting on trout stocking and these bass are massive. We are certain there’s 20lb largemouth in here because we’ve seen at least one.
You guys should keep some bees out there and make a wildflower grove!!! It would support all the life around the pond attracting insects that both frogs and the fish could eat!!
