Well in best case it would be like that, but it's not every time that hard. My Mum was quite surprised, when she could get the dog home on the same day, sure some questions were asked, but she could get him on the same day and she did. She told me herself, that it was a bit to easy and she was a bit confused about it. When we got guinea pigs the woman who got them from a breed (this happends really fast with guinea pigs) came to our house with a woman who looked for the condition they would get, if they have a open cage or just a shitty cage from store, if they have enough room etc. So it was quite different. By the way.. if you have guinea pigs and still have such a terrible "store cage with grid" please think about an open cage, where they can look around, can really run around (!without getting stuck or hurt!) Maybe also have a second floor and give them more place as it's said you should.
