    I wish more of us would emulate Cliffe's effort and comply with the mandate emanating from Matthew 28:18-20. One of the things I like about Cliffe is that instead of framing his argument with glamorous technicalities, he instead presents his view(s) at ground level without tangential subtleties or forensic irrelevancies.
    Sincerely,
    Dr. CR

    The student who discussed Albert Camus’ book “The Stranger” shows the contradiction of Camus when he stated that he was an absurdist and not an existentialist.
    The gentleman spoke that the book shows life does have meaning; that’s existentialism.
    Existentialism is a philosophy that emphasizes individual existence, freedom and choice. IT IS THE VIEW THAT HUMANS DEFINE THEIR OWN MEANING IN LIFE, AND TRY TO MAKE RATIONAL DECISIONS DESPITE EXISTING IN AN IRRATIONAL UNIVERSE.
    Absurdist is a philosophy based on the belief that THE UNIVERSE IS IRRATIONAL AND MEANINGLESS AND THAT THE SEARCH FOR ORDER BRINGS THE INDIVIDUAL INTO CONFLICT WITH THE UNIVERSE.

    Based on your last, I'll leave u with these quotes from Blaise Pascal:
    1.“Just as all things speak about God to those that know Him, and reveal Him to those that love Him, they also hide Him from all those that neither seek nor know Him.”
    2.“If God exists, not seeking God must be the gravest error imaginable. If one decides to sincerely seek for God and doesn't find God, the lost effort is negligible in comparison to what is at risk in not seeking God in the first place. ”

    I must tell you, with utmost respect and in the love of Jesus Christ, that nothing that you may tell me outside the point in question underlying my last post will matter at this point of our dialogue. That said, I want to express my appreciation to Cliffe's staff, who chose not to intervene in this dialogue even when it transpired in their youtube channel.
    With that being said and with the question/choice(s) I left you with in my previous post, I now rest my case!

    Cliffe I love what you are doing. And at least you are doing something that most Christians are not doing. But I want you to know that there is more to God that what you are communicating to these people. God is still a God of miracles. And Yes you can prove the Word of God is the Word of God by allowing Gods power to work miracles, Paul did and God still does miracles. I want u to give yourself the opportunity to genuinely seek God. But as I said, and I will not repeat myself, men (and women) who really want to find God, MUST MEET HIM ON HIS TERMS, This means that u have a choice: u can either reject the invitation to find God and live your life as u so choose; OR u can ask Him to reveal Himself to u, unequivocally, WHENEVER and HOWEVER He chooses to do so. Now the ball is on your court (& whatever u decide will be on record perpetually)
    Choose wisely!

    Is that your M.O...bounce around life making assertions that u are unable and unwilling to defend?
    By the way, I noticed how u chose to address my "tangential" post (asking u about free will) while selectively ignoring the other ones I left for your attention.
    Ironically, your choice exemplifies our 'freedom of response' (AKA: free will). I say that because a 'freedom of will' is not free, but limited to specific constrains offered by reality and co-existence with other people.
    Dr. CR

  • @onehappydawg
    @onehappydawg 11 лет назад

    God did not create this world to be as screwed up as it is today. He created a perfect place that was all good. The Bible speaks to this very point: "Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope, the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay. For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time."

    I believe "free will" to be a wishy-washy way of saying "agency." This is the ability to make decisions at a sapient level. And frankly, being given evidence does not affect one's potential for agency.

  • @ToastyMcGrath
    @ToastyMcGrath 11 лет назад

    Honestly, I couldn't care less about the "free will" argument. My post was originally in response to a now-deleted comment stating something along the lines of "if God gave evidence of his existence, it would deny humans their free will." Which frankly is just stupid. But like I said, as the comment I originally replied to appears to have been deleted by its author, I really have no interest in following an irrelevant tangent about a silly philosophical concept. Talk to a philosopher if you do.

    Two things Toasty,
    First, I only worship God, for He is my (and yours, by the way) Creator.
    Second, why do you need to resort to personal attacks when you try to make your point(s). See, normally those who act like you do are those who run out of logical arguments and manifest their frustration trowing intellectual tantrums like the ones you constantly display.
    Nonetheless, you can be certain there is a God who loves you (and all of us) notwithstanding your (or mine neither) faults.
    Dr. CR

  • @ToastyMcGrath

    Not really, sadly enough. He has thought experiments, emotional arguments, and pointless philosophical games, but not actual evidence.

  • @DrCamelaRumba
    @DrCamelaRumba 11 лет назад

    Let's try once again!
    God as the Supreme Creator must be met AT HIS TERMS. Pretending to meet God at your terms (which is what u pretend with your experiment) will require God to surrender His Supremacy and submit Himself to u---which means that once the latter occurs God would no longer be Supreme and consequently cease to be God. As a result, your experiment would be illogical and self-defeating because it will eliminate He whom u seek to meet as a result of your suggested process!

    Looking for evidence Toasty? Evidence pointing toward the existence of God is all around u. However the more u speak the more u ratify Pascal's affirmation: “Just as all things speak about God to those that know Him, and reveal Him to those that love Him, they also hide Him from all those that neither seek nor know Him.”
    Looking for God requires men to meet Him at his terms, not yours. Why don't u ask Him to reveal Himself to u?

    Well, I'll give you the challenge I've given a number of christians telling me to pray. I am willing to set up an experiment that involves me praying to several different gods, including the god of the bible, to give me a physical, verifiable sign. Specifically, I will pray to the various gods to make a sigil of their religion appear on the inside of my car window, and whichever religion's symbol appears will be the true one. I will even record myself praying to these various religions as proof.
