The more of these Bandai Movie Monster Series figures I see, the more I like them. Toho is leaving a ton of cash on the table by not selling these in American stores. Really loving both of these as well as that 1984 Goji & 2022 Gigan Rex recently shown in the Godzilla store.
I always wondered why they never just imported them over here at a larger scale. I guess it’s more money than they’re willing to risk.. I dunno how major American markets would combat bratty kids ripping the tags off and just leaving with the figure scott-free either lol It’s a good line up to close the year out, for sure! Next years gonna be wild tho!

Great review. I remember being a kid and getting this Godzilla for Christmas when it was “new”. Had nearly all the figures pictured in the tag, including Titanosaurus… it’s surreal realizing this was all 20 years ago. But getting the chance to finally see it on the big screen was a real blast, even if it was two decades too late 😅

Godzilla (Kiryu Saga) is my favorite version of the G-man. Has the awesome spinal design of the millennium Godzilla, with the classic Godzilla white fins and blue Atomic Breath. Looks beautiful, probably the most underrated Godzilla design, I think. Edit: Where did you get this figure from? I might try to pick it up at some point myself.

So my philosophy when it comes to this design, which is my second favorite after 89, is that I like certain elements of Godzilla 2000, but cannot help but feel like that design reeks of that early 2000s "XTREME" "TOTALLY RADICAL!!!" vibe. Like, it set out to be aggressively out there with its color and proportions. The 2002 design dials it back a bit, and takes some more queues from the Heisei, which is peak Godzilla in terms of designs, and thats why it works a lot better for me. Godzilla 2000 always felt a bit hunchbacked for me, which I don't care for. This guy feels more upright and more bottom heavy, which conveys a stronger sense of power and strength. Frankly, it feels more Godzilla. Whereas Godzilla 2000 to me at least felt more Godzilla Jr. ALSO, I should say that at the SHMA figure for this suit really is absolutely amazing IF you are lucky like me and get one with zero flaws whatsoever. XD

I literally can't find it on Amazon at all. They have all the other godzillas and monsters... except this one! And I even did a search filter to see if it as out of stock aaaaannd Nope... nowhere on Amazon. It's bs. Help please??!?
If given the opportunity, I'd absolutely get the original release. I'm more of a 2002 Kiryu fan, I prefer the blue-on-silver style as opposed to the All Silver he rocked In 2003.

The Best design of Millennium Era Godzilla and Mechagodzilla (Kiryu)
