But politically speaking the joke is that American politics have pretty much never been this divided. People just really hate eachother right now and our systems are on the brink of failing. People here feel very upset about numerous and conflicting issues and they also feel powerless, which makes for a dangerous combination. Ontop of that we are having one of the most divisive elections this year, and whoever wins it could be the spark that lights the fire that "makes America burn". In short, it's insanely complicated to summarize but we are... not doing so good to put it lightly lol Hopefully that explains it? I tried to keep any person views out of my answer and just give you a neutral summary of events.
