There are "tails" in the MV actually. At 2 points in the song, the dancers mimic her tails. If you didn't notice, when those legs, as you mentioned, are behind her she shakes and the legs shake which mimics her wagging her tail.
I thought they were snakes too but they're tails! Besides the catwoman angle (which I don't know anything about) but I agree that it's a bad relationship. They're so crazy for each other that it's unhealthy, it's toxic.
