I love these almost silent nature videos! Something about these videos without any added soundtrack makes it so effective. You feel like you're there in real life!

I had a sweet spot at the Mono Vista RV park last fall 2019. It is really close to the lake. It is an otherworldly experience 😍

This used to be a deep lake when I was a kid. Wow... it has changed so much, it's so crazy looking now. Beautiful as well.

Mono Lake is one of the sources of fresh water for Los Angeles. Between that and the droughts, Mono Lake has lost alot. Maybe if it rains more (and more often), Mono Lake will look more like it used to be when you were a kid. One can hope.

Beautiful and mysterious. You have to be on the water in a canoe to feel it !

Beautiful sights and sounds. Mono Lake is magical at dusk and dawn. Truly one of those very special places on earth that have a spiritual / sacred-space presence.

The loud repetitive call is an osprey. I'm disappointed that you didn't show the osprey. They have large nests on top of the tufa towers. There are no fish in Mona Lake, but they choose to live there and breed. They fly many miles up high into the mountains in the background to catch fish. It's very easy to see them bringing fish back to the nests. This so-called "Dead Lake" is incredibly abundant. if the videographer had picked a better place to look at the water it would have been swarming with shrimp and the shoreline is swarming with saline flies. This is a major feeding area for a large number of migratory species. Many of them would not exist without this lake. 90% of all California gulls breed there.

The "mountains in the background" are the Sierra-Nevada mountains.

A saline lake, part of nature, extremely different than the life granted by a fresh water lake. Still, like death, as much a part of nature as life. Texas

It's really hot and beautiful there, because very few people live out there. Be warned there's many bugs, and lots of dust. Also, wear sweatproof sunscreen.

My first introduction to Mono Lake was many years ago by a not so well known at the time PBS reporter by the name of Huell Howser: "As per usual you're invited to come on along as we continue our search together for California's Gold."

These pictures make me sad. If man hadn't diverted the waterflow into the lake so much this would be a healthier lake with a higher waterline.
