- Dedicated to every Susan who was ever a Lettermen fan.... not to mention all the Sue's Susie's Suzanne's Suzis.. etc etc.....! Enjoy this great little song, a hit for the Arbors and included in the popular album "Warm" (1967)
1967 brought me here...HS Sr. Yr....Boston....dreams of the future.....many, if not most, came to fruition.....thanks to all the players!!
I've grown up and was a youngster my mom gave me two immortal cassettes! Closeup by the lettermen and letterman warm! I still hum and sing these songs! Thanks for posting!
How is this for ironic. In 1966 when this song was released I was a 9 year old kid in elementary school. In my class was a girl named Susan and I had an unbelievable crush on her.
Wow!?. Brings back memories.😊😌😄😏❤️👍🇵🇭
Go Marilyn!......Mega dittos!
Always liked this one. Thanks, Phil. :)
a beatutiful tribute to Susan Phil. Thanks!
One of my favs. In 1967 I listened to the record and put down all the words and sent it to a Susan I was dating . When I met her , she said “what a corny song”. 👎
Go Lawrence! Stay the course!
Nice to remember my past
@MikeWilliamsonMusic There must be many thousands of them , Mike! Thank YOU!!
beautiful song
love it
Very nice!! Never heard it before.
❤❤❤
Why is this not on Spotify yet?
until now I have this song at my cp
Awesome Phil, this is the best version of this song ever! Never liked the Arbors version as I always thought their harmonies weren't "tight" and I always thought I heard some clunker notes in their version, but the Lettermen's version is a pure symphony! (pardon the pun).
@TheSuziclassof64 ; ))) Glad you liked it Suzi! You qualify more than most!!
Love this song cause I'm Susan too
@SQDLVR Ha! Pun pardoned Eman..... thanks for watching and commenting..
I was dating a Susan at this time. I wrote down all the words of the song and mailed to her. She thought it was “old fashioned and out of date. Little did I know that she was moving into the “hippie” lifestyle.
The difference I perceive between the Arbor's version and the Lettermen's version is that the Lettermen's version sounds more like it was intended as an album filler while the Arbor's version sounds like it was intended to be an A side of a single. The Arbors sing the higher parts in full voice rather than falsetto and sing in four part harmony makes the harmonies sound fuller. I like both versions, but my choice is the Arbors. The overall musianship was better.
I concur absolutely...
That should have been musicianship.
