As a guy, I love watching this for the fundamentals and especially the fun these ladies play with. I watched this at the local bar and cheered loudly!
That centerfield play for the throw out at 2nd was awesome. The centerfielder barely touched the ball turned and threw a bullet right on the money. Beautiful play.
Robbing the homerun was also a great play with amazing hang time to grab the ball. She also stole that ball from the fan trying to get it. Great energy ladies.

Yes, yes, yes. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to watching the girls play softball about 20 years ago by one of my best friends. He passed away a couple of months before this string of championships for OU, but got to see several games in person during the last 2 in a row championship seasons. But it's their true love and passion for the game that makes it fun for me to watch. Professional sports has lost a lot of its appeal for me since it is being played by millionaires and treated like the billion dollar industries they are. I don't know if or how much the tickets have gone up but it was a real treat to get to see the games and have popcorn and a soda for $20.

What was FSU thinking bringing in a pitcher that throws 35-45 MPH and who can't move well enough to even attempt to pick up a bunt that went right to her? Anyway, great game by the Sooners but some of FSU's strategery was head scratching. Incredible catch by Mudge BTW.
Only thing I can think of is conceding and saving their better arms for game 2. That pitcher was also a seriously liability on defense
Bigger question was bringing in a freshman as the first relief pitcher who promptly gave up three runs and removed FSU from contention against Oklahoma's ace, FSU's ace never even warmed up.

To be fair that was her offspeed pitch. Her normal hurls were in the 60s but I certainly agree - FSU not pulling out the stops for a short series like this makes me wonder what their approach is
Using mobility as sole criteria for pitching would have removed any attempt by Alabama's Montana Fouts from playing with a hyperextended knee in the Supers to help her team, but she still came in because her coach saw her as a viable option. Coach Alameida coached her team to 59 wins this year. I think she knows her job.
You can miss me with the umps favoring OU. Haley Lee was CLEARLY hit by a pitch, and OU had to challenge it for the call to be corrected. These umps are terrible, but both teams are getting blown calls.

@@sierra9486 What made her even worse was how inconsistent she was. Those same pitches in the opposite side batter’s boxes were also occasionally being called balls! She was just awful.
@@soonerborn7603 i can adjust to umpires that r making bad call strikes and r consistent, but it’s so hard to know wether or not to swing at a ball when they r being inconsistent

Between Florida not being able to lay off that riser and the umpire having a very wide strike zone outside to lefties Florida could not get anything going.
I need Florida to do drills the entire day before game 2 to stop swinging at balls at their eyebrows lol. That rise is definitely a monster pitch.

When a pitcher is throwing in the 70’s, it’s hard to lay off. Even more so, if they are behind in the count.

Sliding into first base at 5:00 interesting choice looked like more of a throwing error. Pitcher should have ate that ball.... Not sure why they said problem at first or zoomed into Keen pitcher was charged with the error on that play

Live ball, nobody able to throw her out...wasn't a rule.
1. Her touch was unintentional. She wasn't facing the CF thrower.
2. It's an error on the CF. CF had three options: a. throw to the SS ; b. she missed the cutoff 2B to Rylie's left (our right); c. or she threw it too low to whoever was the cutoff at the circle (which was what happened)..
Rylie Boone is barely 5'1ish". To hit her hand from the back waving around is a CF error.
Its a live ball they missed the cutoff and let it hit her.
She is standing on base when she is hit, so she's safe.
You can't bring girls who commit errors, overweight pitchers, and a dumb coach in to Oklahoma to play against athletic women and the best coach ever and expect to win!
There were no girls playing last night, your willingness to sleep with a player has nothing to do with her value or ability, and Coach Alameda won 59 more games just this year than you ever have, so why not let them do their thing and you keep your silence on the sideline?

Hard to beat a team when the umps are on their side. 2nd inning FSU had 1 on base and a 3-1 count at the plate, ball 4 was CLEARLY OUTSIDE!!!! and ump calls a strike, should've been 2 on NO outs but instead the batter ends up striking out and the next grounds into a double play.. could've been a completely different game after that.

Why is it that girls celebrate like a cheerleader when they make a play as if it was one of the most amazing things theyve ever done, but guys act like it's a normal every day thing when they make an amazing play. The girls must be bored playing their sport & really jealous when they see guys play.
