I like when they cut Hilary's bangs, she wasn't freaking out, and crying, and acting all dramatic, like how the girls do on America's Next Top Model. She didn't seem to mind, she seemed mature, and she knew it was for her job! I love Hilary Duff!
Pretty sure it was just a trim as Hilary did Lizzie McGuire before hand and Lizzie has bangs (both show and movie), so might of just been a trim/freshen up.

Is it just me or is mostly everyone liking her now because of her hair colour she needs for the movie? If that is case, then it is depending on who you but the way I see it that is a little bit judgmental and unfair if that is the case.

Not true. Anyone could easily dye their hair if they book a movie deal. Not that big a deal.
