I'm also a convert (I converted june 2022 at 18 Alhamdulilah). Her story reminds me a lot of my own. May Allah grant her good in this world and in the next and may Allah keep her steady on the straight path.
The next best thing is not always the best. I don't get why the west is looking at some prospects of Islam and completely ignoring the rest.
Even I was interested in Islam but few things stopped me from converting. How did you accept Prophet Mohammed child marriage, sl*very and apostasy laws? I couldn't accept it so I stopped learning about Islam.

In Islam, child marriage is not condoned. Upon reaching puberty, a girl is considered a woman. It's crucial to understand that historical contexts differed significantly from contemporary times. One important question arises: Why was the allegation regarding early marriage only made around 100 years ago? This suggests that such marriages were common in earlier times.
The past shouldn't be equated with the present. Nowadays, the concept of a career ladder is ingrained in our minds (Kindergarten, primary school, A-levels, university, work, etc.), but such a structure did not exist in the past.
To gain a better understanding, it's essential to study history and explore the legal age of marriage in the 19th century, even in Europe and the USA. Additionally, examining Aisha's perspective on her marriage to Muhammad (peace be upon him) is crucial. She is perhaps the best source to ascertain if she experienced any psychological harm.
It was once commonplace for girls to marry at a young age; for instance, my aunt married at 10 and remains content and beautiful. This contrasts with modern models who often struggle with mental health issues and suicide. Society's perception has been influenced by the media and educational systems, creating a distorted sense of morality. When a dog falls into a lake, you will find it goes viral on the internet and TV shows ???
The consequence: animals sometimes have more rights than humans. If a dog relieves itself in public, there's no issue, but if a human does the same, law enforcement intervenes. Similarly, media coverage often prioritizes trivial matters over grave humanitarian issues like abortion or Western moral interventions leading to destruction in other countries.
Rather than succumbing to societal norms, it's crucial to break free from these preconceptions and awaken from the cultural "sleep" we find ourselves in.
Moving to the topic of slavery in Islam, it's imperative to understand that Islam discourages slavery. Historical factors, such as economic and social norms, led to its prevalence in the past. Apostasy is not exclusive to Islam; it's a legal issue, and while individuals have the right to believe as they wish privately, causing disruption in society may lead to consequences according to the laws of the country they reside in.
Therefore, one should refrain from assuming a higher moral ground without comprehending the complete historical context. Beware of being influenced by biased media and the current surge of Islamophobic information.

Almighty Allah insistently emphasizes that people's religious perceptions are nourished by the book of the universe he created and the verses of the Quran he sent down.
"Do they (polytheists, Jews, Christians, Ahl al-Sunnah, Shia) seek anything other than the religion of Allah, even though those in the heavens and the earth submit to Him, willingly or unwillingly? Yet to Him they will be returned."
(Ali Imran- 83)
In other words, Allah will hold you responsible for the religion He revealed and the book He sent.
Therefore, every intelligent person should learn his religion, that is, his path and guidance from Allah, and only Allah should be his indispensable teacher.
Because the teacher of the Messengers is Allah.

What strengthen my faith constantly, is when I keep thinking by myself, of how complicated I'm, how deep my thoughts and feelings, how I'm in constant change with each and every experience, and at the end, how I most certainly cannot be just a result of "Nature" or "Evolution"... but I definitely have a maker who made me and is looking out of me. I also think that sciences and religion go hand to hand, cause it shows you the proof about it. However, science can go so far, cause everything is controlled by Allah. If Allah doesnt want us to discover something, we will never will. May Allah make the Journey easy for you. Remember to be stead fast sis. The 6 days in the Quran is like the Cosmic Calendar by Carl Sagan. And as the brother said, this is not something scholars tried to fit into the Quran, it was already explained when you understand the terms in Arabic, not just the raw translation of words.
For example, one way to look at it is :
According to Carl Sagan's cosmic calendar, the earth was formed in the 8th month out of 12 months=2/3 of the universe's age.
According to the holy Quran, Cosmic Calendar, the earth was formed in 4 days out of 6 days=2/3 of the universe's age.

This was on Tuesday and Wednesday, which together with the two previous days add up to four days.

Two things to comment on here, first, yes everything comes from God, including science and the balance, and all the equation as well as the math, but he did gave us brain to discover them so everything originate from God.
Second, yes, God created the world in days and it is literally six days, but each day of Allah are different from our days, as we tend to keep things in proportion to what we already have in knowledge, but they are literally days in name, and to keep that into science perspective the year, for example A year on Neptune is about 165 Earth years, with that said, so it is a literal six days of God days as I mentioned, and the same time and science wise, the days are completely different on every and each planet in our galaxy, but we still call them days

I loved reading Qu'ran, especially 9.29, 5.51 , 9.05, 3.28, where it says you can eat popcorn and talk to fairies and ants. So spritiual.
And they tried to twist the necks of the noble texts to make those theories an explanation for them. There is a lot of danger in this matter, so it was necessary for us to show the middle approach in interpreting these noble verses and put scientific controls that protect the researchers from slipping. Loading the texts intolerable, as well as avoiding them from the reactions that afflicted some of them, so they turned their backs on the accurate references to the truths that God deposited in his being (who knows the secret in the heavens and the earth), where some contemporaries went to launch a fierce campaign against those who said the scientific miracles who went to explain those The verses in light of the scientific facts revealed by scientific research and human effort. It is these controls First: That we do not deviate from the Holy Qur’an from its primary mission, that it is a book of guidance for mankind, and we do not believe that it provides us with a detailed explanation of the cosmic or natural phenomena that we see. And the signs that came in the Holy Qur’an draw attention to a cosmic reality in astronomy, in the seas, in mountains, in plants, animals, or humans. These references are in harmony with the main mission of the Holy Qur’an, which is to lead man out of the labyrinths of ignorance and the darkness of polytheism into the light of monotheism. Realizing the wisdom of God Almighty in His creatures, and that He is the One, the One, Who has no partner in His kingdom, and demonstrating His ability to create and manage, and to Him is the end and the destiny. Or, the cosmic verses should be followed up by asking a question about the author of these secrets and these systems in the universe. Is there a god other than God who made that? Or to show the blessings of God upon his creatures in general, and to harness these creatures for man so that man realizes the value of these blessings that surround him from every aspect, so he turns with gratitude and worship to those who bestowed them, may His Majesty be glorified. And other Qur’anic methods that presented cosmic facts and natural phenomena, all of which aim to worship the Creator, the Judge, or to demonstrate the greatness of His ability, Glory be to Him, to take care of the interests of His servants. It is well known that scientific discoveries pass through stages. The first thing that attracts attention to a phenomenon, the researcher assumes that it has possibilities. If he thinks it is most likely a specific explanation for it, he focuses on experiment or study. At this stage, it is a hypothesis. If he was able to establish proofs and evidence on it, it moved to the stage of theory, and if the results were expelled and the result did not differ from time to time, and from one place to another, and at the hands of all the researchers, it led to one result, then it became a scientific fact.If we want to explain a universal verse, we have to refer to the scientific facts in this field, and if we find one of them can be an interpretation of the verse, so that the scientific truth gives an additional dimension to the mutual understanding of the verse, then we can make the scientific truth one of the means that help us to understand the verse. It mentioned the seven stages of embryonic development, and modern science did not realize them until late. Scientific theories are subject to falsification and the retreat of their owners from them, and linking the interpretation of the Quranic verses to those theories leads to confusion in people's minds and shakes their confidence in the Holy Quran in the event that its owners return from it or the appearance of its invalidity. The researcher should not delve into these theories, no matter how famous and widespread they are, as long as there is a possibility - albeit small - of their invalidity. One of the miracles of the Holy Qur’an is its flexible style that accommodates the understanding of successive generations, and no generation of generations can comprehend the implications of this style - especially in cosmic verses and social norms - or in short, except for the verses of legislation. A scientific fact may be discovered in an era of ages, and researchers think that it is meant by the verse and confine the verse’s indication to it. This is also a wrong approach that must be avoided. Many contemporaries limited the meaning of the Almighty's saying: Yes, we are able to straighten his fingertips In the fingerprints that were discovered in 1880 AD by one of the Western scholars, and they said: It is what is meant by the verse. And we say: This scientific discovery gave a new dimension to the meaning of the verse, but it should not be confined to it, as there may come a day when something more accurate and deeper will be discovered in the middle, and the previous discovery will become a superficial understanding of the noble verse, as we said about the previous understanding of the verse before disc overing fingerprints. However, modern medicine gives another explanation, and that there are three membranes inside the placenta: Amniotic membrane, chorion, decidua Despite the relevance of the statements of doctors in this regard, which are the sayings of specialists in this field, and despite the fact that their saying gave a deeper and newer understanding of the noble verse. The indication of the verse should not be limited to their saying this, as it may happen that three darknesses are discovered other than what they mentioned. The Holy Qur’an is an eternal miracle of the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and the proof is established by it on successive generations until the Day of Resurrection. And the argument is based on successive generations until the Day of Resurrection, and its significance means voiding it from establishing the argument on subsequent generations, and this contradicts the wisdom of its revelation and miraculousness.

We muslims are convinced that islam is the most pure and beautiful religion. And those who are seeking that purity and beauty will eventually find it.
Let me bring just a few examples:
Quran 17:23: "Your Lord has decreed that you should not worship anyone other than Him, and that you treat your parents well".
Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Shall I not inform you of the biggest of the major sins?'' Messenger of Allah (PBUH) asked this question thrice. We said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah. (Please inform us.)". He said, "Ascribing partners to Allah, and to be undutiful to your parents".
and then especially this one in reply to your quotations about women:
"Heaven lies beneath the feet of your mother".
Then just imagine how a person and his/her life will improve and what will be the influence to the society if he or she avoids (and not only avoids, but does not even dare to approach) the most forbidden things:
- slander and backbiting
- adultery
- witchcraft
- take property from orphans
- usury (interest)
- violation of obligations / contracts / given word
- lies and false testimony
- intoxicating
- theft
...
And also ask yourself how many of these are fulfilled by those "advanced" and "enlightened" and "civilized" ones who keep screaming about the "savages" and their "wild" religion ...
Let me assume that you are a sincere truth seeker - and as that you are also looking for the right way to God (please don't hesitate to let everyone in the discussion know if this assumption is wrong though).

I am also a revert and i can relate to her and I would like to share my observation that a lot of non-religious actually feel there's some entity but they cannot name it and satan keeps making them go astray or stay ignorant of the truth or embracing. If we Muslim up our game, a lot more people will embrace the truth. A lot of reverts will agree to this because have similar observations.

In its cover there is also mentioned "With Islamic Additions". If you look at the pages of Islamic Additions, you will find out that even the scientist author of this book mentioned all those verses in a very understandable and logical way

In Chapter "Qaf", we find this beautiful question which is one of many interrogations in the Quran referring to the Sky/Skies and the stars and the majesty of the universe:

The Holy Quran 📖 , its content word-for-word and from start to finish is from God. There are no human's words added in, no words removed, no words modified (unlike the bible).
The complete Quran from the times of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) until today is preserved intact till today (unlike the bible) because God has said he will preserve the Quran.
* Quran (verse 15:9): God (Allah) says He has revealed the Quran and He will guard it against corruption.
* Quran (verse 5:3): God says "This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion."
And indeed He HAS preserved the Quran 📖 till today even.
The Quran is the ONLY holy book in the world today, where even if all physical copies of the Quran books were to be burnt or destroyed, it can still be reproduced thereafter by the hundreds of millions of muslims in the world today because it is the ONLY holy book in the world that had been memorised from begining to end by hundreds of thousands of people.
Muslims regard memorising the Quran as a great honour (and is bestowed with great blessings from God) as muslims regard the Quran, which is a FINAL revelation from God, as a treasured gift to humanity, from a loving God that wants to guide humanity.
Praise be to God (Allah) creator of all worlds, 🌏 creator of the seen and unseen, creator of the whole universe 🌌 and everything in it, including you and I, Allah is the master of the Day Of Judgement. He has no equal, no sons, no daugthers, no uncles, no aunties, no trinity, there is only One God.☝️
Forget not, the day of Resurrection 🪦 is real, the Day Of Judgement is real. The one true God will preside over the Judgement Day. After judgement there is Heaven or Hell. Seek the true way to salvation before it is too late.
Quoting Quran 67:6
And for those who disbelieve in their Lord (Allah) is the torment of
Hell, 🔥
and worst indeed is that destination.
When they are cast into it, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth
It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast into it, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?"
They will say: "Yes indeed; a warner did come to us, but we belied him and said: Allah never sent down anything (of revelation), you are only in great error."
And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!"
