The original, of this on Baker street was written for guitar, but when Gerry Rafferty and the band turned up at the studios to record Baker Street, the guitar player Raphael Ravenscroft, had lost or forgotten his guitar, (Not totally sure, but I did hear the guitar got left on a train),, a band leaving the studios was asked if they could lend a guitar, but the only thing they had was a spare Sax,, and the rest is history,, a masterpiece and legend were created !!

"Baker Street" terrified and basically traumatized me the first time I heard it as a kid. It wasn't just the sax solo, but the combination of the sax solo with the keyboards, strange lyrics, guitar solo...really the entire song was so creepy and scary to me. It still terrifies me decades later as an adult. I can't stand to listen to it at all.
