    While Alan Moore's Swamp Thing is one of my 10 favorite comics, Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson's Swamp Thing run will always hold a special place in my heart.
    You understandably skimmed over David Michelinie and Nestor Redondo's time on the title, but I also really enjoyed those comics. Redondo as a Swamp Thing artist doesn't get enough appreciation.

    • @demetriusdillard2863
      @demetriusdillard2863 Год назад

      I agree. Though Nestor Redondo's tenure on Swamp Thing often gets overlooked and largely overshadowed by Wrightson's ten-issue stint--including his debut in House Of Secrets #92--on the character (and for very good reason), Redondo's run was equally atmospheric. And Jim Aparo did a magnificent job, as always, in The Brave And The Bold #122 and #176. May Redondo and Aparo both rest in peace.

    Swamp thing has been one of the reasons I kept up, as much as could with comics since 72'. The art and character design by Bernie were the best of the best. Something I remember only Stan and Jack ever commented on at the time as something completely surreal and genius. Years later after following man thing thinking that character was a cheap rip off of swamp thing and finding out through time that was the exact opposite of the fact I grew up adoring both characters that have always been something of a bizarre hidden truth to their look ,stories and their origin that might both might be something of a macabre legend that exists somewhere in actual reality. 👍 Great job 👌👍

    Honestly I love the strange signifiers of era throughout the len wein's swamp thing
    Alec just walks between the late 1800s to the retro future and through at the time modern 70s cities as he goes across the US
    It's a refreshingly unique look at a kinda roadtrip story that feels fun but still allows for some pretty impactful and meaningful pulpy ec horror style twist

    Wein and Wrightson's initial ten-issue run on Swamp Thing from '72 to '74--including the character's eight-page debut in House Of Secrets #92 the year before--is undoubtedly one of the highpoints of the Bronze Age, bar none! Just like the value of the words from the person reciting a fact, the fact depends upon how many people have it.
