I wish I heard this message before I got married September 2022 and today I’m divorced. I didn’t judge her base off coming from an abusive parents that fought with weapons. I thought she would have known better after she said she went for a therapy. This girl wasn’t just physically abusive to hit or slap me both in public and home, she was emotionally and financially abusive. I was against her watching House wives of Potomac, House wives of this and that but it always end up In a fight and I stopped voicing out. She turned me against my family, friends and anyone she perceives that’s not RICH around me.The day she hit me with a bottle and I saw myself bleed, was the day I chose to walk out of the marriage and that was the end. She was never remorseful in any way. Today , I’m happy as I have learned to forgive her so I could grow. I’m saying this because what Apostle is saying is 200% true. Never ignore the signs and her family background if you perceive any of the things her parents went through in her life. I am a witness.

I used to be a contentious rude women because i carried the traumatic experiences i encountered as a daughter. It didnt help that my husband was a sinner and cheated.I have since forgiven, released the pain with the help of the Holy Spirit. My husband is still not born again but the Holy Spirit changed something inside of me, i am at peace and give that same peace to my husband. I thank God for the deliverance. My husband and i are best friends and we cant wait to apend time together. I would have never seen his love. God is faithful, moreover He is on his way to repent. My home is peaceful now and i would never do that again.

I agree to some degree with what Pastor Femi is saying but disagree with some of his positions. I can see it comes from his African orientation of the woman being socialised for domestic work without a thought for men to be just as self-sufficient and useful at home. He is always placing domestic work at the feet of the women. Can men not also play host to guests? Can men not also cook and clean the house? In this day and age where both spouses work, they need to work in partnership too on the domestic front. The woman cannot be the only homebuilder. Men have a role to play too as the dynamics in the home are not always static. I also find that most Nigerian men view feminism negatively and I guess this is down to their lack of education on what feminism really is about. Your wife, sister, mother and female relatives can hold office jobs, go to school and own bank accounts thanks to feminism. We do not throw the baby out with the dirty bathwater now.
