The acting isn't the best in Hollyoaks, but Darren and Nancy really feel like a couple. They have a natural chemistry which includes when you've been with someone so long and they annpy the crap out of you but even then you still love them and they can suddenly make you laugh. The writing is elevated by their chemistry, too.
I am in love with dancy but Darren really does not deserve her. He is so self destructive its actually painful to watch.

I want to slap Darren! He gives up so easily, Nancy said they shouldn’t take it any further and instead of having a face to face conversation to try to sort things and continue to show her how much he’s willing to do to get back with her....what does he do?? Goes out with Mandy, tries to comfort her even though she was a total witch and kisses her and then sleeps with her...
I really like Darren and Nancy together but I hate that the writers continue with this on and off with Mandy. After all the misery Darren has put Nancy through, he should be doing the impossible to win her back. I hate what Darren did to Nancy...
It´s sad to see an adult act like an irresponsible child over and over again. I don´t understand why anyone would fancy Darren and he acts like he has a diagnosis of some sort. Taking Nancy for granted knowing how much he hurted her. He is such a coward and his behavior is so pathetic and he always try to joke his way out of bad situations. He is not even funny, just pathetic. I do like that he payed Ste money for the prostetic leg that Nancy threw in the pond though. That was a decent thing to do and shows how much he cares about Nancy. Nobody is perfect but it´s time for Darren to really grow up and search for professional help.

Darren is insane if her gets back with Mandy. He belongs with Nancy.
Nancy must have been EXTREMELY low and desperate to let Darren back into her life for more than co-parenting. Given the fact on how he broke her heart several times, she knows him better than anyone and knows that he will NEVER change. Why she thought this time was different, is beyond me. And the fact that he is now kissing that strumpet when less than 12 hours ago he was proclaiming how much he and Nancy belonged together. Darren has always been the biggest disappointment to everyone and I've watched this character for years and he's the same selfish idiot he was when he lived with Jack, Frankie, Jake, Steph, and Craig.
Darren has always been such an idiot but he isn´t completely useless though, he actually payed Ste for the prostethic leg of Sid that Nancy threw in the pond, which was a good thing to do. His behavior here though is so stupid and he seems to take Nancy for granted.
dude is the biggest flake and cheater around. He says the nicest things, and probably believes the words behind them himself (which makes him convincing to the people he says it to), but due to piss-poor self discipline and commitment he'll always be a let down. I'm sure he loves Nancy, but after his long secret affair-turned-marriage and hurting her, he should've known he'd never get her back. You can't hurt someone and rock up back to their life, expecting a second chance. The only way it would happen, is if she choose to forgive and come back to him.

Darren and Mandy are married so it´s easy to understand why they slept together. He took the rejection from Nancy and slept with Mandy and realized in the morning that he really loves Nancy. He fancy them both though so it´s complicated.
