  • Pokemon Unite’s first balance update has just gone live. I show comparisons and breakdown exactly what was changed, and by how much in this patch. None of the attack, damage, or cool down changes were given any exact numbers in the patch notes, but I hope this video helps you to figure out what’s new.

    I can’t wait to give Gengar’s new moveset a try! Talonflame’s damage buffs look pretty juicy as well. Thank goodness cinderace got nerfed so that other damage dealers can shine. Charizard and Venusaur’s buffs don’t look very impactful, but I want to see what they can do after the patch.

    Is shadow ball and dream eater better than sludge bomb and hex now? Or is it more situational

    • @yocuppajoe
      @yocuppajoe  2 года назад +2

      Sludge bomb hex will still have a higher damage ceiling because the combo can go on forever, but shadow ball dream eater has higher burst dps during it's damage window. Sludge bomb hex also does aoe damage so there's that.

  • @JohnnyAppleFiend
    @JohnnyAppleFiend 2 года назад +1

    Does Hex's invulnerability show up as "Unstoppable" above him or is that a seperate thing? They do seem to be different between the patches.
    If that is the case he lost the invincibility at the location he teleports to, and only has it before the teleport as it winds up.
    That would hurt.

    hey, are wise glasses bugged? I tested on gardevoir, using the boosted attack as the benchmark, and from what I could tell I was only getting the point boost, from the item, and not the percent boost too.
    I compared against the point boost for shell bell.
    I compared a lvl 11 shell bell with about 10 sp.atk
    to a lvl 11 wise glasses with 20 sp.atk points, and the 5% sp atk increase.
    (tested pre patch btw, though they didn't mention anything about that)

    • @yocuppajoe
      @yocuppajoe  2 года назад +1

      The base sp atk stats are so low in this game that it’s possible the % bonus was not enough to increase the damage on your boosted auto. I’ll look into it, but this sort of thing can be very hard to test for.

    • @henry2168
      @henry2168 2 года назад +1

      @@yocuppajoe interesting, one thing I was able to find was that, at least for sp.atk. and in gardevoirs case, a 10 point stat boost, equated to a 2% damage increase.
      @ level1 my boosted attack went from 142, to 145. so from that I assumed her sp.atk stat was 500.

    • @yocuppajoe
      @yocuppajoe  2 года назад +1

      Serebii has the base stats for all Pokémon on their website. One of my recent tweets has the link. Her base sp atk at lvl 1 is closer to like 50 xD

    • @henry2168
      @henry2168 2 года назад +1

      @@yocuppajoe lol ok then, had the wrong decimal place, their damage formula must be insane, because first glance these item stats make no sense.
      unless its using some pokemon formula? I think one of those had a divide x number by 10 in it?
      anyway I'll keep an eye out for anything you find on the wise glasses.
      Thanks for responding so fast and all.

    Zeraora got a shorter cooldown not a longer cooldown on Wild Charge

    • @yocuppajoe
      @yocuppajoe  2 года назад +1

      The official patch notes contain a few mistakes, this being one of them. This is why I took the time to record everything and actually show the differences rather than relying on the patch notes. Zeraora’s wild charge got a cooldown increase, but its damage was buffed.

    • @SoKMANcY
      @SoKMANcY 2 года назад +1

      @@yocuppajoe You literally show on the vid, the old Wild Charge had a 10.5~ish second cooldown, the new one has ~9.5 second cooldown when I test it...you also don't show Wild Charge's NEW cooldown for some reason

    • @yocuppajoe
      @yocuppajoe  2 года назад +1

      That’s weird because I’m in the testing area right now getting a 10.5 second cooldown. Old cooldown was 8.5 seconds. I guess your Zeraora is just built different :p

    Machamp can still initiate with Dynamic Punch or Submission depending on what the other team has, I had been picking Close Combat recently to secure KOs easier so I'm glad that got a buff.

    Is sludge bomb hex still good?

    • @yocuppajoe
      @yocuppajoe  2 года назад +2

      Good, but not broken. It'll take more hexes to KO people, and there will be a larger window for Gengar to be punished, so it's more fair for the people getting hexed.

    • @marinomele4575
      @marinomele4575 2 года назад +1

      Dude, it's absolutely disgusting as always XD
      Dunno why yocuppajoe isn't saying this... But Gengar got BUFFED and not nerfed!
      Think that one full Sludgebomb-Hex combo only deals 30-ish damage less now... Absolutely insignificant XD
      (Apparently the invincibility frames have been reduced, but if so... so little that no one noticed yet)
      And on top of that, they doubled ShadowBall's damage making the Shadowball-DreamEater combo hits actually AS hard as the Hex one!

  • @marinomele4575
    @marinomele4575 2 года назад

    2:30 "Wich actually hurts, because your goal is to spam Hex over and over"
    Old 'longer' combo: 12.100+ damage
    New 'longer' combo: 11.900 damage
    Watch out for the big nerf Gengar players! You can still easily win a 1v5, but you have to pay a bit of attention this time around :D
    Not enough? Worry not - your other combo is broken too now! :D
    While Talonflame's newly-buffed Fly only does around 2900, and can't combo with anything...
    Want to combo? Try Brave Bird and Aerial Ace! The latter got an outstanding 8% buff! :D
    The only thing that this patch did is to make everyone stronger... than Talonflame. The undisputed worse character in the game right now XD

    • @yocuppajoe
      @yocuppajoe  2 года назад

      Even with the old hex you’re only winning that 1v5 when your enemies are too afraid to realize they can just stun and knock you out. It takes just one more hex to do the same damage you were doing before, but that in combination with the reduced invulnerability fames makes him so much more punishable. And the mon was punishable before, but like I said players are too scared to realize it at lower ranks.

    • @marinomele4575

      @@yocuppajoe It's still one of those few S++ tier Pokémon nonetheless XD
      No but jokes aside, the only bad thing about this patch update is that Talonflame is waaay behind every speedster.
      It's just a pity when a character in the roster has 0 reasons to get picked, dunno if I made a point here XD
      Now, of course team composition can complement Talon's playstyle very well but... on the other hand... why so much effort when, say, Gengar is overall a better speedster?
      I do hope they find a way to make him fun to play while being a serious alternative to other speedsters tho.
      Back to Gengar, the invincibility thing is the most interesting part of the 'nerf'...
      Except I wasn't able to understand when he's vulnerable to attacks.
      You're a Gengar main?
      Have you figuret it out?
      Because... we know it's there since the patch-notes list this specific nerf but... Where exactly? XD

    • @yocuppajoe
      @yocuppajoe  2 года назад

      He used to be invulnerable right before teleporting, and for a moment after the teleport. Now he’s only invulnerable right before he teleports.
