- In the video, my family and I travel to the MAJESTIC COLONIAL RESORT in beautiful Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. This would be our sixth resort visited down South including places like Jamaica, Mexico, Cuba and once before in Dominican. This resort topped them all. In fact, our expectations were exceeded each and every day. we honestly couldn't find a complaint and it ranked above all other resorts we've attended. If you're considering a place to vacation with your family, think no more....just go!!!

We went October 5-12, 2019. It was just awesome, can't wait to go back!! Service, staff, bartenders & Jacob our Butler, all top notch! best vacation ever!

Ha! Seems like the gym numbers were quite low in correlation to how many people were on the resort. Go figure!!

Hey Chuck we took the same vacation last year. The dude playing the piano told me he came to Canada to work in the greenhouses and then got hired at the resort as an entertainer. Great video and a beautiful family! Cheers from Cottam Ontario

That was a very nice video of the place. Wow, you guys had a great time. It seems like the pool is a long pool that goes into the hotel area instead of just being one large pool in the front near the beach. That means more pool space for families to spread out. The water seems clear and turquoise...yes?

Hey!!! I was waiting for you up at the snow fort Freezin my butt off, had some great California steaks and San Francisco sourdough bread for us to eat and come to find out you are down in some warm weather place...Boy was my doggo mad she wanted to play with Willow and make cat snowman .....
Haha!😂. Yes we are slowly getting over the sunburn and willow has forgiven me for leaving her for a week!

we've been there twice both times were excellent ,been to mirage twice as well and heading back to mirage in february you can't go wrong with the majestic resorts in punta cana , love your video

Chuck Porter - Everything Outdoors the resort is only 3 years old so stuff is new I like both resorts , the Butler we had a colonial now works at mirage and he always makes sure we are having a great stay, his name is Franklin

I went with the parasailing right from our resort, but there are others trying to sell it to you on the beach. As I recall, I got it cheaper right from our resort though, and I bargained a deal for parasailing, snorkeling and tubing. I have forgotten exactly how much I paid for the whole package though (sorry!). It certainly wasn’t very expensive to what I thought it would be though. Cost aside, it’s breathtaking and I fully recommend
Can't wait to go back in Feb of 2021, we made the mistake of going to Ocean El Farro this year, (what a dump) but we wanted to try something new.
We are always ‘curious’ about the next resort but always want to go back to majestic as it’s just so great in every way👍

Absolutely clean. We had a room facing the pool (as shown in the video). I can’t tell you how incredibly high I would rate this resort. We’ve been to many, and have a rule not to return to a resort twice, however, this could be the exception!👍

Just a simple GoPro (hero 5). It’s all I use in all my videos (if you look down through my channel you’ll see lots of other videos. Check out the latest ones as they are the ones I filmed with the hero 5 GoPro)

We bargained a little with the agents and did a three pack combo. We paid $40 us for the three of us to power tube, $60 for two of us to go snorkeling on the coral reefs, and $125 for three of us to go parasailing. I know those prices are quite comparable and even a little cheaper than other places we’ve visited.

Cool video! question My wife and I just book that hotel for this spring break April 2020, any recommendations? also how was the snorkeling and scuba diving?
I tried the snorkelling, parasailing and the fast tube (tube towed behind boat) and my recommendation would be to bargain with the sales guy on getting a good package deal. They offer you package deals anyhow, but counter offer an even lower price-it worked for me! The snorkelling was fairly decent, with good views of the coral reefs and tons of fish. I have had better coral visits (Mexico) but have had far, far worse for sure!
This was the best family resort we ever attended, hands down. I can’t say a bad thing about it....get involved in whatever you can as it’s all so very fun and entertaining 👍

Just booked it for June. Are long pants for men required in the restaurants? Can't get a clear answer from them. And what time of year did you go?
We went on match and the rule then stated you had to wear long pants in mist of the a la cart restaurants
question...how far out/location did you go to snorkel where there were rocks and fish
The areas you see on the video are within the swimming area that's roped off....so tons to see!!

Absolutely! Lol. It was in the restaurant closest to the beach. Just to the left of the buffet👍
Hey Chuck, is there stargazing at night when you relax on the beach?
Yes we could see them if you went to a place on the beach (or resort) where there were no lights to interfere
Hate to ask but my wife wants to know what you hung over the hot tub? Looks like a blue curtain did that come with the room or did you do that?
We took a shower curtain with us and some removable 3m hooks as we knew there was no privacy. Simply put it up for our time there and took it down when we left
Was there entertainment around the pool area for the adults ?
There was daily entertainment (for all ages). Different times throughout the day. Of course the foam party always seems to be the biggest event.
This one allowed kids correct? And of so do they play music throughout the day?
Yes. They alllow kids. It’s hands down the best resort we’ve ever been on

Do they have oceanfront rooms as well?
I know they have them next door at the majestic elegance side more so....although you can see the ocean right from the balcony on the pool view rooms that are closer to the ocean.
Do they serve lobster, shrimp, crab legs?
Hmmmm that was a while back now. Certainly served shrimp in many varieties. Have not seen a resort yet that didn’t have a ton of them. Crab legs might be an issue, however, I tend to recall lobster being an option at one of the a la cartes.
What month was this pls ?
It was in March. Best family trip we were ever on. Can’t say enough good about the whole resort. Flawless. And yes, there was a bar on the beach plus they set up other bars on certain nights throughout the week 👍

Haha!! I was thinking about it!! Lol!! I even mention this in my next video I have in the mix!! Just back from an overnight ice fishing trip. Skandic got lots of use there and I made up for lost time 👍
How do you get so many views on your videos?
It’s a mystery to me why anyone would watch my videos really lol. I spend a fair bit of time editing my videos, try not to talk too much (as that bores people) and try to provide interesting things. I keep it family friendly as well (no swearing, drinking, smoking etc). Dunno other than that. Like I say, I think I’m the most boring person ever lol
