Yes, from the time 2:20+ both layers are cut at 1cm. I am not sure why the 1cm is stressed again at 3:50+, maybe to remind you to line up at the part that is cut away (1cm) with the zip, and not the full length of the fabric. This may be a little misleading if you are new to sewing. I love watching Sewingtimes tutorials, maybe watch a few other with a similar style for clarity. Hope that helps.
Hello, I find some of your instructions incomprehensible to me. For example where exactly are the loops sewn on? Either the distance between the zipper and the loop was too big or the seam was still visible. I also don't know where the zipper is sewn at the top seam. On the right or left side? Are all 4 corner squares cut at 1cm, when you line up the inner and outer fabric before attaching the zipper? Thank you.
