When reading the creed, he left out the statement "descended into hell", even though it was put up on the screen. Not sure why that was, or if it was even supposed to be mentioned. Other than that, it was informative.
The Apostles did not write this. It was written to push the ideals of Arius out. What it was, is in fact, the binding of the Church by those heading Christianity in the day. It was to keep Christianity pure. It was written in Nicene around 328 ad, and then refostered in the 380's. God be with you...
Not only was the creed not written by the Apostles (it's likely no earlier than late 2nd Century), but the "He descended into Hell" part wasn't incorporated until the 4th Century. Just a late addition people thought appropriate.
Sounds like the speaker is trying to put a spin on it. The the word Catholic means universal. And the holy Catholic church and the communion of saints are not one and the same as he suggested
"descended into hell" doesnt mean want we think it is. It can be replaced with hades or sheol. One is in greek, the other in hebrew. I think hades is better used here for our understanding today.
the christians in the roman church made that. it was written during harsh persecution st ignatius called the christian church back then catholic meaning universal faith
Twelve disciples, but which twelve? Which 'succinct statement about the faith' is the Judas Iscariot statement? As for "what you notice immediately" is that you completely skipped over "he descended into hell."
He says the Holy Spirit got short shift. Sorry fella -- don't sulk about it. He says the Creed is "beautiful" -- but sorry folks, it's actually made-up balony.
This Creed is good but the apostles didn't write it sorry and whoever wrote that Christ desended into hell messed it up ,BIG TIME ,Constantine did not have any revelation or knowledge of the scriptures sorry guys forgive him
WHY did you leave out the bit about "JESUS descending into Hell" ?
See my reply to Eric Hughes below. It was not part of the original creed.
AMEN!!!

Hebrew meaning Sheol, meaning grave.
sheol means hell

@@marctesio3413 The word "sheol" occurs NOWHERE in the NT. Hades means HELL.
“…he shall come to judge the QUICK and the dead.” Lol

You lost me at "Catholic church".
That's because for 1500 years the only Christians were Catholics.
It means universal church not the Roman Catholic Church. He explains that.
@@rickysalgado373 That is not true. Orthodox church in Coptic‘s may disagree
@@Papasquatch73 coptics and orthodox left the catholic church during the schism.
That’s like thinking the word orthodox only refers to the Eastern Orthodox Church. The word catholic literally means universal 4:27
