I’ve been watching your videos since before my daughter started kindergarten. When she was getting ready to start kindergarten I couldn’t wait to make a homework station and a family command center because I’ve always loved yours. You also have motivated me for meal planning and have given me the push I need for when I don’t want to clean. You are so fun, sweet and smart and a constant bright spot.
You have been a lifesaver. I am a mother of 6 and was literally on the verge of a breakdown due to not knowing how to organize, meal prep, and getting on a routine. The first video I watched was the back to school lunch hack video and I was immediately inspired. Thank you so much for your videos. Although I am not a SAHM I was able to find time to organize and meal prep thanks to you and now my life seems a little less stressful!
Kimmy your vlog just inspires me so much on a daily basis! I love tour homework station idea! I have always had a magazine rack hanging on the wall for my kiddos school stuff, but I feel like it has needed to evolve into a more functional system as my kids have gotten older. I love this! And the school binder? ❤️ I am SUCH a binder girl. Binders keep my ADHD in check.
the one thing I thought that helped me alot is a inbox for all paperwork coming home from school and a outbox for paperwork going back. basically when I was busy when my children came home and at night I went through my inbox and did my paperwork and the kids knew to look in the outbox in the morning
Nice job on using items you had already, ur station looks nice & tidy. I was just over on Cassie channel, and left the comment "we go old school and use the kitchen table for homework" with the added benefit of the daycare curriculum room...my kiddos know they are allowed to pull supplies as needed. If you are ever looking for more magazine holders, check the dollar tree, they have nice sturdy ones that come in several colors. oh I like those signs...I'm be printing them up! Thx for sharing :)
I love your ideas they are so great for all age kids I watch other youtubers but there ideas are great for little kids but i have older kids and they dont work . I have two kids in homeschool and two in public and these ideas are great for both
I love your ideas and I also checked out the cuttlebug. She is great as well. I got a lot of ideas from the both of you. Thanks so much. I am doing a homework station and I love the way it is turning out. Keep on doing great on your channel. I am at single mother of 5 so it is hard for me to get it together but with these ideas is helping me make it easier for me. Thanks so much and Great Job!!
I always suspected you were a genius and this just proves it. Your use of the Crystal Light container to hold colored pencils is EXACTLY what I have used a CL container for. I love that it is nice and tall and is big enough that it holds a lot of pencils. SO...if you use the CL container the same way I do you MUST be a genius!
Hey Kimmy! Your homework station looks terrific! I love the holders. Sometimes it's better to buy the ones that are a little more money cause they hold up better and being its in an open area, you want it to look nice as well. Aannnd...you can use them in your office in the future : ). Love the framed printouts on each end too. Good idea with the caddy and the rack. Job well done!! Have a great day!!
We live in Vancouver and depending on the teacher the kids keep incoming paper in their agendas (gr 1-7). Some kindergarten teachers provide a folder they purchased with school money and they don't use workbooks that's only for the parents to buy for home use. K-grade 3 only bring back library books weekly, spelling and other things weekly. This is from my child's school..other schools run differently in different parts of Canadian school districts. I know the schools in wealthy areas or the ones that get more funding have iPads for kindergarten and better quality resources.
Great idea to have a homework supply drawer separate from mommy's pens and pencil/junk drawer. Love it. It looks like your buffet has some knobs you pull and a work surface comes out? Could kids use that as a desk with a stool?
Thank you for sharing your tips!! We are moving into a new house on the 15th and our schools start on the 16th. So, as you can imagine my anxiety is in overload. I have no clue how I am going to do all of this.😵😵
We moved one year right at the start of school too. It actually worked out great because I could organize based on how my kids were naturally putting stuff.... In the old house we did things "just because we always did it that way"... But in the new house I just kind of observed where my kids were naturally leaving their backpacks or naturally doing their homework and set up systems based on that. I was overwhelmed at first but then realized it was great starting out with a clean slate :) good luck and have fun
Hello Kimmy! Love your videos & scripture on your wall! OT: Can you please show how you do everyone's shoes by the front door? I really struggle to find a cute way to store our everyday shoes in a small home. Who would've thought that shoes take up so much space!?!
Hi! I recently saw on Pinterest, where you can put up one of those racks like Kimmy has toward the bottom of the wall, near the baseboard and then hang your shoes on the hooks. It keeps them off the floor.
You and Clutter Bug I just adore...I always check in every day for both your videos... thank you sweet ladies.... : ) I have got so much stuff to go through and organize and I get overwhelmed... I have taken care of several people in my family and they have passed and I have waited for time to pass so it would not hurt so much (miss them soo sooo much) when I went through there stuff and there personal things but that time hasn't happened.... any advice I would love... thanks and God Bless, Dot I bought me and hanger like yours and is on my list to put up or ask my husband for help putting it up I should say. ( I should watch all of the video before I post...lol)
Hi kimmy love the homework station and the coat rail for there backpacks it's fab Hun . My daughter starts high school in September and i think I will be doing something like the homework station its great Hun . Have you had a talk with the kids about everyone contributing to the organised space? That's the second half of the equation in things like this, group understanding of how and why things are done. There's no point in organising and putting a system in place if the other people using it don't understand/don't respect the system.
Stay-home Christian Mom She also said and has shown that it has a tendency to get quite messy and then she has to reorganise more often. That could be changed with a reiteration of the reasons how and why to do something.

Your School Caddy could use some Rulers, Protractor's, flexible measuring tape, and rolls of Tape. Paper hole re-inforcement tabs,
IKEA has the cheapest magazine holders plus I also got som on super sale at a furniture store
lol My kids would mess that drawer up in about 2 days haha
I don't have space for it. I have a small space on kitchen counter but Ryleigh couldn't reach it :(
i love your braces
