This Leatherman bond is a greatly under stated multitool! I to have the wave, charge, and a couple of surges and others . But I always loved the PST ,that was my first multitool. And was really pleased Leatherman gave us the bond! All the reviews seemed negative at release, and if you have no lock blade laws, all well and good?
Bond is perfect for us in the UK but that aside I love the back to basics simplicity of this model! Like PST, the one that started it all its incredibly handy to have this one in your pocket? And it's been very capable of all that I've asked of it! I think a lot of multitool fans have been spoilt and should go back to basics and just get bond and go old school for kicks?? I never go to work without it and have not carried any of my other Leathermans this much since I had the PST? I really do believe Tim Leatherman got it right with the original, and bond reinforces that opinion!

I just got a preowned one that looks like it was never used for $40. I couldn't pass it up even though I really don't need another multitool. I came here to assess my purchase after the fact lol.

My main use is outdoors and im in the UK so I've been using cheaper multitools with no locking blade for years. The size and weight of the Bond is great but outside of a Gerber Dime or cheap copies i have no point of reference. It's a revelation compared to what I have used, all the tools work and are reliable. There's a Gerber model with no blade i might try in the future or the keychain sized Leatherman and that's pretty much my multitool journey over so im very happy with the Bond!

If you mean the Gerber MP600 bladeless which I think you do, I bought this 3 years ago as I'm in the UK as well and wanted a full size UK friendly multitool. But honestly I haven't carried it much. Firstly it's too big and heavy to carry in the pocket, it's about 5 in long and the pliers head protrudes and would jab me in the leg. Secondly unlike on the Bond or other Leathermans, you can't extend the handles 180 degrees, or hold it in a pistol grip at 90 degrees, so when you use the drivers then it's kind of off balance, with the pliers tip sticking in your palm. Finally the Tungsten carbide wire cutters shatter like nobody's business unless you're cutting electrical cable, they're soft wire cutters only.
It's not all bad though, the tools in themselves are all sturdy and functional, and it does have scissors which are pretty robust and capable. You can swap out the Remgrit for a jigsaw wood or hack saw blade, doesn't have to be Remgrit brand either, it just has to have the Black and Decker shape fitting - or was it the Bosch one? I don't remember but anyway they're readily available and inexpensive.
Point is neither the Bond nor the MP600 are standalone carries for me, I miss scissors on the Bond, and a blade on the MP600. So I'm happier carrying the Bond plus a SAK with scissors.
I don't want to put you off the Gerber, like I said the tools are all good in themselves but the configuration makes them awkward to use. Also they are far from cheap nowadays. Even 3 years ago I paid £65 for mine and that was hunting around and finding a ''good'' price. Now on Heinnie Haynes it's £110!!! The lowest price I see for it now is £78 plus P&P.

Well done my friend. Switching out for the bit exchanger. On the other side, you should swap out one of the screwdrivers for maybe a pair of scissors as I think the Bond is an Urban multitool.
Also, where is a good place to get the bit exchanger?
    Great job.
(PS- have you fooled around with the Multiforce yet? I made a locking Armbar from one side.)

I got the bit exchanger off of Ebay. The scissors is a good idea. I have not converted the multiforce into a single frame tool. I have seen it done and it does look nice!

Wait what? Screw drivers as crowbars. Holy moly. Did you pry off the side of a house with it?

So with the rebar. You get replaceable cutters and locked implements and that's it?
