After years of neck pain which caused my insomnia, I tried the pillow under the waist and rolled towel inside the pillow. First time in years I woke up pain free and actually had no insomnia. Bought all the fancy expensive pillows that did nothing for me. Your advice was the only thing that worked. Thank you for making this video. I didn't know what it felt like to be pain-free thru the night.
Excellent video. I have used the pillow between my knees forever for sleeping on my side. The additional towel roll is new information for me. I will try immediately. Thank you!
I'm naturally putting my hands between my legs to relieve the pressure instead of a pillow as side sleeping. As for stomach sleeping, I remove the pillow and bring my knee a bit closer to my stomach, it helps a lot at least for me. Great vid :)
I am a side sleeper. I might try putting a towel in addition to my pillow because I often feel like my neck is not being supported well enough. I also like sleeping on my back but because of sleep apnea (I won't use a cpap) I don't sleep that way very often. I don't like the pillow between my knees trick unless it's a small pillow. I also have broad hips so I might try the rolled up towel by my hip to try to keep my spine in a neutral position. I also like to use a pillow in front of my chest and wrap my arm around it for support and keep my chest more open instead of it being kind of squished. Good tips!!
i actually tried this and was able to go to sleep i felt like my back was more open and aligned in a way i guess? i’m gonna try to do this everyday now. i also limited myself to one pillow and not too and it’s not a huge pillow so my head isn’t all the way up when i’m sleeping.
Great video. Some of us must sleep on our sides because of obstructive sleep apnea or severe snoring. I am one of those people, and I do have neck and lower back pain. It's been a conundrum. Thank you for your insights.
I think my husband has low back pain due to his hips. He has large hips and has pain in the morning. I'll suggest the pillows placement. We'll see! As for myself, I used to sleep on my stomach in my younger years. The day after giving birth to my children I slept on my stomach. It felt awesome... But now I can't. It gave me a frozen shoulder. Now I sleep on my side and will use the pillow set-up for sure. I appreciate your videos. Take care 😀
Tim, these are fantastic ideas and ways that I have tried in the past, however when you're trying to get some restful sleep, you'll try anything. In viewing all the different ways to use a towel with the pillow and the side pillow is instant sleep for me! Thanks again Tim. This was very helpful! Btw, I was led to your channel via an Ai search on how to rid myself of bad sleeping postures and getting rid of the "crook" in my neck.
I'm a stomach sleeper with painful APT, which I thought was just normal life but I just started ballet class and my teacher thankfully pointed it out. I've been trying the hip pillow for three nights now and it immediately felt better after the first morning and today I didn't have any back pain at all! It's also much easier to maintain a good posture when moving about all day. Looking forward to seeing how continued progress makes ballet easier 😊 Thank you so much!
I'm happy to see you gave us better options for stomach sleepers. 😃 I mostly hear how bad it is and is great to see little changes that can make it better without pretending like I can change how I fall asleep 😂. This is doable! 😃thank you
I work on the computer all day. And hence developing an improper posture. I figured out sleeping just straight on the back without any pillow helps me. My back resets during the night.
Tim, I have followed your suggestions for better sleep positions. Are you familiar with a pillow called sutera? I have read promising reviews, but would appreciate your evaluation. I look forward to hearing from you.
Some very helpful tips in this video. I have scoliosis and had surgery for it about 8 years ago. Unfortunately I’ve been struggling with shoulder pain ever since. I find myself sleeping either on my stomach with no pillows at all or on my side with support between my ribs and hips, as well as needing to have some sort of support in front of me so my shoulders don’t collapse towards each other while on my side. These are the only “comfortable” sleeping positions I have found, but I still wake up in pain. It’s honestly discouraging.
I slept on my stomach most of my life because of central apnea, somehow, being on my stomach helped me breath better. Once i got on cpap and have been for years, I dont sleep on my stomach at all anymore
Wow...I think I'm going to try the towel inside the pillow .....had an accident last year and then it's like I have a pinched nerve in my shoulder ....it's always aching if I seat down for long especially when sewing.
Hello sir, i need help, i am stomach sleeper without pillow from childhood but before 1 month mistakenly i took pillow and slept on stomach after that i got neck pain and head ache but i took physiotherapy and i got a totally back pain and Spine pain. I took muscle relaxer, pain killers but it never works i consultant a neurologist he gave me medicines but it never work and done stretching exercises but my pain increasing and tingling also start. What should i do sir plz help??
Interesting. I sleep on my back with my Bulldog in between my legs though, when I sleep without my dog, I sleep on my side. But I find that I move around in my sleep and my dog moves too. I think I move around with or without my dog in bed as well.
Great info! Thanks very much! I had a question about back sleeping... I get acid reflux if I don't use 2 pillows but I know it's not good for my neck. Do you recommend a type of pillow or something I can do to not kink my neck when I sleep with elevation? Thanks in advance!
you could try putting a brick (or block of wood etc) under each leg of your bed at the head end, this raises your head higher without the need for a second pillow.
My sleeping pattern is on my stomach but one leg is bent and to the side. My biggest problem is that I toss & turn in my sleep and rarely stay in the same position all night…towels or pillows would only stay put for so long. Good information though.
The PT I went to told me to put a pillow under my knees, so I do that, but what if you don’t/can’t sleep with a pillow? Is that bad for my neck if I don’t sleep with a pillow?
I wish I could sleep on my back because I have constant neck and shoulder pain. I had a couple bad experiences with sleep paralysis while sleeping on my back and now find it almost impossible to sleep in that position.

Excellent video, I'm a side sleeper. I use a contour pillow between knees and ergonomic head pillow.

Now I know where exactly pains me, it's my thoracic curve. And my upper back. Thank you.

Maybe all my back pain has connections with sleeping postures. And is It true that if your mattress is too soft, it cause back pain too?
What a very handsome speaker.
Sir right now my daughter is having severe neck pain what can l do she can't sleep
Is sleeping on my stomach without any pillow better than with those two pillows? it works better for me than that option
Doing push ups or planks improve your posture

Do you think becoming a PTA is good?
I wish I could sleep on my back because I have constant neck and shoulder pain. I had a couple bad experiences with sleep paralysis while sleeping on my back and now find it almost impossible to sleep in that position.
whats surprising is that you managed to get comfortable enough to sleep in a position you dont even use
What about sleeping on your back
Tried all your tricks but still cant get rid off upper back pain... 😕
☺👍
👍🌹🌹❤
If I sleep on my side and have my arm stretched out or tucked under the pillow my arms go numb…
