I don’t understand why not more people lay the griptape to one side, in place so you don’t need to cut on both sides? And with all that tread sticking out over the nut you must bang up your axels pretty fast? Seems to make more sense to put one washer on the outside. But thank you for showing us your board! Pretty long wheelbase for an 8. Cheers from the skatenerd
cant get with with trying to line the edge of the grip perfectly to the edge of the board. i do understand less tread on the axle showing would be great. this wheelbase feels so good. really makes for lofty flip tricks. and thanks!!
We set our boards up exactly the same way 😎except it looked like you put your back truck on first? My ocd always has me putting the front truck on first.
hahaha sick, oh yeah im not tripping on which truck i put on first. im very particular with a lot of things but i try not to let it takeover. i think my bolts tightening order has more to do with it the being more evenly tightened than anything else. in the end i really just want everything to look minimal and cleanly.
if i could choose id either have my trucks exactly the same or the back truck slightly looser. sometimes i leave them as is and sometimes i do quarter turns looser at a time for a few sessions until they feel right.
ive skated this same exact shape & size for like 15 years probably. i believe its called a B152. id say its medium steepness. best shape board in my opinion.
ive never skated or was interested on hollow or lighter trucks. ive always skated the raw 147 hi. no bells or whistles. and so i chose to make my truck the same.
@@lopwidth7343 ive done this exact thing for as long as i can remember and my bearings last me over 5 or so years a set. i actually dont remember the last time that i NEEDED to change them out. i dont agree and think play is important because your axles will eventually slip and the play is saving your bearing from that pressure when they do, preventing a blow out.
Thanks for the setup vid, man! Do you always ride 8.06? I ask because your pro models (which I buy) are usually the dlx 8.38 shape (which I love). Keep the vids coming!
ive skated 8.06 for over a decade. i asked krooked to switch up the size that my graphic comes out in each time so everyone gets a chance to skate my board. and krooked will print me a small stack of my new graphics on 8.06 for me so i can ride the current stuff.
Brad! Totally off topic from the board set up which is super clean by the way. but are they ever going to release some more Jack purcell converse? Those middys are cleannnnnnn
thanks! ive asked if they planned on ever making them again and i was told that its not gunna happen. although i was lucky enough to get 10 or so pairs made for me to skate. for sure my all time fav shoe. for how they look and skate.
@@BradCrom3rthanks for taking the time to reply man! Appreciate you! That’s such a bummer :( if only I knew, I would have bought so many pairs during those times. Agreed. They were my fav pair of cons. Have a speedy recovery, can’t wait to see you on the board again.
You should use washers next to your bearings and wheels. Without washers you have too much tension on the wheels and bearings. Closed bearings are better from technical point of view: they last longer and they are protected from dust and from mechanical damages.
ive popped the shields on my bearings for probably 20 years now. they sound better to me open. and honestly, each set lasts me years. to each his own 🫡
@@betulaobscuragotcha. im going to keep running them w/o shields. i get the spacers. i think ishod uses like 4 on each wheel to have the nut not cranked so far down. that way the tread is safe when landing primo. super smart.
wasnt cheap. i do t have health ins. whoops. the X-ray looked good, got a cortisone shot, and a strong anti inflammatory prescription. he said its healing nicely and the bone looks strong.
Cromer out here diving into the asmr community
🤣
Talk to the peeps at converse and re-release that Jack Purcell mid!!
oh ive tried :/
We need it man
Hopefully you heal quick! Feels like yesterday watching you do some stellar krooked grinds on the curb at Lot in September
@@clipsondeckthx, yeah i got hurt right after that on a krooked trip in vancouver
@@BradCrom3r ouch :/ you got this! Stay positive and rise above!
Simple! Always loved the sticker job

Get well soon mate!
im always excited when u upload the new vid!
The trucks look clean! Definitely plan on getting a pair to support
sweet man thanks 🙌
I love videos like this.
Tell Cons if they re-release the Jack Purcell Mids I will buy 4 pairs of the classic black and whites right now no joke
oh ive already tried

I’m stealing the scratching the bolts thing. 👍🏼 I’m also injured currently. Speedy recovery to you!

Been digging the youtube content a lot. Keep em comin 🤙🏽

Video was really nice and calmed my nerves after a long day of work.

i basically ride the same set up. i really like this 8.06 from Krooked. i ride 52 classics thoough haha
the shape is so good!
Nice setup! Love watching these kinds of videos.
Sick. Hope your recovery goes well. Appreciate your skating
Xmas complete, nice set, Brad, didin't know you ride 8"
Best setup video I’ve seen ina long time, oddly relaxing.
Stoked for you to get back on board, here’s to a speedy recovery 🥂
thanks! & thanks!
Do you like your front truck and back truck to be the same looseness? Or do you kind of just leave the trucks as is? Like no modifications or anything
if i could choose id either have my trucks exactly the same or the back truck slightly looser. sometimes i leave them as is and sometimes i do quarter turns looser at a time for a few sessions until they feel right.
I do my bolts the same way I do it to keep the truck straight
I do this too, just like you would when tightening wheel nuts on a car.
Thank you for this. Those converse shoes are dope
A video about the music you chose for your parts could be nice or like a commentary like you did before
Hey Brad what steepness do you prefer your boards? Or you don’t care and ride whatever they send you

Yoo Brad I loved the 8.38 with wheel wells yall did!!
the goat honestly love the personal content
texture on the baseplate rocks
Great set up vid
It was sick meeting you at LNF last Saturday!
oh yeah man, good talking with u
omg the bearings 😂
they sound & feel 👌
I know they’re your pro model so you probably want to skate them, but why don’t you skate hollows or inverted kingpin?
ive never skated or was interested on hollow or lighter trucks. ive always skated the raw 147 hi. no bells or whistles. and so i chose to make my truck the same.
What shoe size are you? Always handy info when seeing what people ride.
8.5 shoe (more 8’s with cons running big)
What shoes are those? Always loved how everyone sets up a board differently
these are cons jp mid pros. unfortunately they stopped making them a while back. im just sitting on back stock.
Hope you recover well. If you got time you could do those commentary on your skate videos
size 8 Army 🤌
Thanks Brad. Heal up!
thank yaa!
this setup is pretty fresh g!🔥🔥🔥
You don’t want play. You want a spacer between and a solid connection all the way through if you want your bearings to last the longest

What do you do if your bearings get squeaky
i never have that problem. i rarely switch out my bearings. they last me at least 3 years usually and never squeak. it may just be time for a new set.
I,didn’t know, people still skated 8 inch decks? Cool
hell yes, favorite skater. What shoes are those?
aww thx man. these are cons jp mid pro’s. unfortunately they dont make them anymore.
