It’s not hard to get Algerian visa. They apply the same rules that your country applies for the Algerians. If the country does not require visa for the Algerians like Malaysia, Cuba, Tunisia…etc then the citizens of those countries they can visit Algeria for 90 days visa free. If countries require Algerians to apply for visa like Britain France, South Africa ..etc, then the citizens of those countries will need a visa to visit or work in Algeria ( Reciprocity).

Many countries dont give Visas to Algerians, hence these petty problems. Dont blame Algeria. Im in Algeria ex US Chicagoan. Love it here. Too affordable and living the greatest life of my life now. Sold my home in Arlington Heights Il after 55 years. No stress here.

In matters of visas Algeria follows the principle of reciprocity. I bet it will not be complicated to open the circulation of people between Algeria and SOuth Africa. Reciprocity is a requirement in the constitution.

@ahmeddjeghri1971 No reciprocity is not important. Other countries have visas for us because algerians are not respecting the rules, they use tourism to immigrate. There is no way a european would overstay their welcome and settle illegally in our country. You have to understand how the world works. If we want to have access to the privileges of developed nations like a strong passport we need to develop the country, pride is completely useless when it comes to the reality of the world. We can use tourism to actually develop the country and make it more open and known so it attracts direct investments. Unfortunately there isn't a single country that is developped and which is closed to the rest of the world.
By closing the country we are falling behind our neighbors, who have the same standards of living without our ressources. We need to completely open it, and start participating in the world economy, do you think turkey or china are stupid ? or do they lack pride ? they don't and yet they opened their countries to nations which impose a visa on them. Because they understand that to have the same privilege they need to have the same level of developpement. No developped country will let undevelopped countries invade them. No visa Reciprocity is only possible between countries with the same level of developpement, otherwise the people from the undevelopped country would massively immigrate illegally yo the developped one. It's common sense.

Pourquoi écrire " forcé" en majuscule? Quel en est l'intérêt ? Puisque vous saviez amplement que votre visa venait à terme et que vs devriez repartir! La loi est la même pour tout le monde, que vous soyez sud-africain, américain ou martien !!!! C'est affligeant de voir des touristes balancer de telles âneries juste parce qu'ils ignorent la réglementation du pays qui les accueille avec bien veillance ! Vous comparez Dubaï à l'Algérie, non jeune homme, le développement de cet émirat n'est nullement dû à la masse touristique, mais plutôt aux avoirs des investisseurs étrangers qui remplissent les caisses de ce dernier, voilà ce qui fait sa " fortune", sans parler que les Émirats sont considérés comme un magnifique paradis fiscal pour les plus fortunés de ce monde, qui n'aiment pas payer d'impôts chez eux! Nous les Algériens, ne nous sommes pas bêtes ni ignorants de ce qui se passe ailleurs, à bon entendeur 😊

well all the countries that are visa free for Algerians those countries citizens enter Algeria without visa too, u should apply for a multi entrance visa as you have family working or doing a business in Algeria , cause u be accommodated by them they should make an invitation for u that u be staying with them!

It really sucks this visa crap to enter different countries. God has created this earth without any boundaries but humans did what humans do, screw up this planet and make it an unhappy place. Anyway, like others said, the Algerian visa is only difficult for those from countries where visa is made difficult for Algerians. Algeria applies a reciprocity policy. South Africa should make it easy for Algerians to get a visa then Algeria will reciprocate. Tbh, they should, because the economical and political relations are excellent between the two countries so not make travel and stay easier for both populations? Any way wish you can sort out this issue very soon and be reunited with your family in Algeria. It may help I think if you get a family in Algeria to sponsor you to make the process easier?

I think you have every chance of getting a long-term visa. The American RUclipsr "Chris" from the RUclips channel "Travelwithchris" obtained a 1 year Visa on his first application and in addition he had only requested a 90 day visa and he obtained a 365 day visa. So nothing is impossible. I am sure they will give you the long term visa. Moreover, the American will soon return to Algeria to film a second season.
