    ATL has always had appreciable numbers, but as far as socioeconomics is concerned, there is no notable BLACK OWNERSHIP in ATL whatsoever.
    If we have no industrial foothold in ANY urban city, then the use of the words "we got" is misleading.

    I respect Atlanta, its rich history, and everything they've produced. With that being said: Saying that if Atlanta ever falls off it will have a massive impact on the direction of black culture is a reach.

    • @dawb86
      @dawb86 25 дней назад

      It would, though. The same way the culture shifted when things left NYC, would happen if the focus was no longer on Atlanta. What they're currently broadcasting to the world, unintentionally, is that this is where we WANT everyone to look at as what represents the culture to the masses and considering Atlanta's trap scene/sound has been its most prominent aspect for the last decade that just ain't it no more (no pun intended lol). If it weren't the hottest scene in the business whichever scene became the new focus would also have the most direct influence on the youth movement.

    Atlanta has too many different flavors coming out of here to lose anything. If you look at the trajectory over the last 20 years, no Atlanta Artists that became a superstar sounded like the next. Something is always going on here that the rest of the country finds out about like 2 to 3 years later. It’s been that way.

    Atlanta music scene has one thing going against it. That’s influence from non southerners. Atlanta was a place where the south came together to have a voice these kids dropped the ball in order to be accepted and for hopes of record sales. Back in the days being different and real was natural. But they let the industry come down here and take our sound. In order for Atlanta to stay on top we got to look at other cities in Ga, Ala, etc and give the a voice.

      @@thegodblogger3812 the illusion that “black people run Atlanta” when they don’t. They have a stranglehold on the word “culture” but the income disparity is INSANE in Atlanta. It’s the ugly piece of furniture no one wants to talk about because of 1. Rap, 2. Strip clubs, 3. Clubs, & 4. Celebrities all summing up to “Culture.”
      “The Atlanta Wealth Building Initiative has found that white Atlanta families have a median household income of $83,722-three times higher than Black families’ median income of $28,105. When looking at total wealth, the gap widens enormously. White Atlanta households have a staggering 46 times more wealth than Black households-$238,355 for white families, compared to just $5,180 for Black ones.”
      1/17/24.
      The boom in entrepreneurship in ATL has led to a bunch of folks faking the funk and struggling with debt. But I guess they can always say “I don’t have boss” so it evens out.
      The median house in ATL (1/4/24 - Neilsberg Research):
      - $124k white
      - $49, 526 black
      My point is Atlanta could fall tomorrow and it wouldn’t hurt anything besides the ego of Atliens who hang their hat on the word “culture.” All in my humble opinion.

    Folks' tastes change and they eventually move on. Atlanta has been in charge for 20+ years. Falling off is inevitable, fellas. Atlanta created and dictated what was hot, musically and the world followed. Nah, I kinda go for what I know and listen to music from my generation (primarily '90s), but if I'm not mistaken, I believe Texas is kinda ruling the airwaves. --> Or even that "drill" stuff that folks like to consume.
