half sets weren't really a good thing cause it would often be extremely time consuming and not allow for proper balance for both sets (and the team was smaller), we basically still have them in form of a big patch that changes the game a lot like the frying pan one.
So, if you get briar or xerath, you basically won the loterry.
it's not like those temporary events are always balanced anyways
