Make one video on your law school journey to bro, anyways it was a great video :).
If you are studying sociology at LSE and the other student is studying economics at UCL or KCL, the latter win hands down. Point being made LSE is good, but it depends what subject you are reading.
I highly disagree with this evaluation of the subjects. As someone who actually works and is educated in social sciences as a broader path of science I had the experience that sociologists are often the more versatile and useful graduates. Sociology students often deal with different methods and fields mostly including econ as well, hence derive a complexer and less static view on society and social interactions, processes. Econ grads often lack a deep understanding and only employ very abstract rational choice or game theory models while staying in an utterly artificial language that is often not suitable to really explain the complexity of a situation. That is also the reason, why unis tend to offer more interdisciplinary modules nowadays and less pure econ. Nevertheless at the end of the day, a econ grad can be as useful and flexible, so it does of course depend on every single person as well.
maybe not King's but definitely UCL
@@eric6173 yeah but we make more money
All points aside but man that jacket is dope 💯🔥
Ahaha my guy Harsh! Thanks :)
Thank you, I have been thinking about university recently.
My pleasure Sb, hope I helped :)
awsome video
Did the LSE staff help/guide you to get work experience such as vac schemes etc or was it purely just the brand?
Would I choose LSE for undergraduate studies? No - the place is very small, is full of students who chose it just for the perceived reputation, and the student satisfaction is incredibly bad. Where else in the UK or US would I go instead? Oxbridge, UCL, Edinburgh, Duke, Chicago, Stanford etc.
Do you mind doing a sixth form a level preparation video? I am going to year 12 next year.
Thanks for the suggestion mate! Will put it in the list
I miss the hangman instrumental in the intro man
me too... issue is, copyright claims, and getting copyrighted whilst going into law as a career is too ironic lool
Don’t get why LSE has a low student satisfaction. I’m a student there and it’s amazing. Also, the fact that it is such a competitive uni filled with people who want to work at the best banks creates an atmosphere which motivates you as well. Social life is also really good so genuinely don’t understand why sm people don’t wanna go. If ur reading this as a sixth form student who might want to go to LSE but is worried about all of that - it’s lowkey a lie and it really is the best place to go if you want a career in finance
if you don’t mind me asking, what course did you in uni because i’m interested in doing economics
@@mohamed7595 finance
@@filippoabbattista9189 how did you find it? i’m currently interested in microeconomics, so would like to ask if a finance degree explores this study in depth
@@mohamed7595 love it, there is one micro half module in first year and 1 in second year
@@filippoabbattista9189 okay thanks.
I've got the offers from LSE and UCL, yet, except your fourth point regarding LSE's financial support, I think you should focus upon sharing your experience at LSE as an undergraduate or a graduate student, but not as a student at LSE summer school....
Some people prefer UCL to LSE because studying at UCL, in their views, will give them more fruitful campus life than studying at LSE; I have even heard from someone else that teaching quality at UCL is much higher than LSE in some programs.
I do agree that LSE has produced many political leaders in many countries and its brand is utterly notorious, but we should be aware of one thing that having reputation and well-known alumni do not amount to good campus life.
Hey Ali got any idea why LSE offers less study abroad opportunities than comparable American ivy league universities for example?
68% of the students are from abroad themselves so i guess its not as worthwhile for LSE to offer those opputunities.
Ali, do you know if it’s possible to switch courses once you enrol at the LSE? I applied for an Economics joint honours course at LSE but would now like to study Politics and Economics instead. Do you know how flexible the LSE are with changing courses on results day? Thanks 👍🏽
uzzie you can switch after first year if your first year grades are good enough because most econ related courses have the same first year modules. Focus on getting decent first year grades first then it makes it easier to dating
Hey Uzzie, my friend switched from politics and econ, to straight econ, so there's a possibility! I'm not sure how easy it is... I've heard it's really hard at LSE to switch around. Make sure you ask your department very early on!
Thanks for such a quick response Ali, I’ll definitely ask once term starts!
uzzie i got you!
What were your other university choices other than the LSE??
Anyone thinking of applying to LSE next year?
Hi i'm FROM peru im studing economics i would like to do a Master degree in LSE when i finish my university
Sorry do you know how much it cost?
Could you possibly do a video on y13 advice?
Like what in particular?
maybe just anything you did specifically during year 13 to get good grades? I honestly don’t know what in particular but I’m going into y13 so any advice would be good 🤣
5th reason - for Saucy 😂
Watching the video in my playlist to know the corrupt LSE of UK.
Let’s just admit that LSE is a tier above UCL if you want to earn big bucks after uni, and probably ten tiers above KCL (why do we even compare KCL with LSE 😂 ) if you want no bs, straight up get on the career ladder early, LSE over UCL/Kings all day.
Ahaha unsure if that's true. I know quite a few UCL students who have the game in their hands (anecdotal). Your uni is just a place you start at. There's so many more factors than the brand alone tbh
Lse is good, might be better than UCL, but ur talking as if LSE is a Harvard
@@ruchikasaluja6354 as he said it's a starting point.
MMmm I mean it's ranked so low internationally I couldn't even get a scholarship for it because my country doesn't count it as being Top 30 university material for undergraduate studies sooooo idk lol.
What a levels did you take?
Government & Politics, sociology, Business, and Finance
