There was a Sherlock Holmes movie where he gets cryogenically frozen and wakes up in modern (1990s) times in the US. There was an extended sequence at the Arizona London Bridge. Apparently bridgeploitstation is a thing.

Watching you guys cracking up over imagining Jack The Ripper taking in various local amenities was literally the one thing that got me through lockdown!
The film missed a golden opportunity to have a memorable twist ending. The Ripper is unmasked... and it's John Ritter! You know, Jack TRIPPER! Dun dun dunnnnn.
I'm such a fan of yours. I want to see you follow in the steps of your heroes David Hasselhoff and Cynthia Rothrock and make your own cheesy action movie! You have good chemistry with this buffoonish puppet. He could be your amusing sidekick.

I actually shopped at that Hastings when it was closing a few years ago. It was the saddest things to ever happen to this town. Sadder than this movie.
I remember watching this on tv as a kid and being disappointed that Jack The Ripper wasn't a vampire. Frankly, the episode of Kolchak The Night Stalker "The Ripper" did it better.
I want to personally thank you all for bringing this abomination to my attention. This is the Hoffiest film I think I've ever seen and I watched Nick Fury on purpose.
As an adult, I thought this movie was a fever dream I had as a child, until I did research for a Jack the Ripper history video last year, and discovered it was very much a real thing. Great video, as always, bringing the Hoffstalgia cheese!
I saw this back in the 80s while on holiday in Cornwall when I was a kid. I remember loving it and it always being in the back of my mind whenever I watched Knight Rider.
I’ll give this thing more props than fate/apocrypha just for not having a disgusting Ripper but still not as good as Fate/Strange Fake’s “I did a ritual with a plastic jackknife and it summoned a ripper who doesn’t believe in itself”
I watched this movie more times then I like to admit. My mother used to live in Laughlin, Nevada, not far from Lake Havasu, they played this a lot on local tv back in the day hahahaha

I can't help but compare this movie to one of my all time faves, "Time After Time," in which Jack the Ripper (David Warner) steals a time machine constructed by H. G. Wells (Malcolm McDowell in a rare non-psychopath role) and uses it to escape into the future, pursued by Wells. That movie handled the whole fish-out-of-water aspect brilliantly, with Wells stumbling around 1979 San Francisco searching for Jack while being utterly amazed by everything he sees. Of course, that movie was written by Nicholas Meyer, a screenwriter with actual talent, while this piece of rubbish was written by nobody. If you've never seen "Time After Time," do. It's a great flick, tremendously entertaining.
As someone who has been checking in on your reviews since you only had ten done- Thank you! And if you've never seen Space Precinct, it's on Tubi. You're welcome.
I'm sorry, Jim, I know you said not to fact check, but I was curious... As I suspected, incandescent streetlights were _just_ starting to become widespread around the time of the killings attributed to Jack the Ripper (about 9 years after the very first street was lit by incandescent lampposts), so they _might_ have had them at that particular bridge. Maybe. Whitechapel was a horrendous slum at that time, though, so they may not have had many there, if any.
I remember when the bridge went Zonie. We all shook our heads in wonder; what kind of idjit puts London Bridge in Arizona?! We changed the singsong to “London Bridge is falling down/to the U. S.” We were in grade school, as the level of comedy suggests. This was so much fun. I lost track of the LOLs. I do love me some Alison with a Sunny Jim on the side. Mazel Hoff!!
