Wow what a crowd in DeSoto! We had hoped to get into the town after doing a chase from downtown St. Louis but we got turned around just outside of town. When someone said there were 10,000 people there he wasn't kidding! We did some catches near downtown, JB Bridge, and then highway 47 outside of Bonne Terre after this stop in DeSoto. Good you got video of what we missed in that town!
It contains the identity chits of the people actually servicing the locomotive. When a person starts work he hands his chit to the engineer and it is hung on the board. When he is done with his job he retrieves it. That lets the engineer know when all the work is finished and nobody is still working on the locomotive. It is a safety thing.
I never thought something this cool would ever come through my town
I love the lady wearing the white hat reaction to Big Boy. No worries lady, I feel the same way 😄
A few years ago, who could have even imagined that we would ever see a sight like this.

That whistle was SO loud! Also I got stung by a sweat bee
I almost got stung in the face by a yellow jacket
I was right behind you.
What is that blue key board that the engineer puts out? I've noticed it when they service the locomotive.
